Project Solar Wind- TH9 War Base Series

    Hey guys, I'm Tomaster.
some of you may know me through my other bases, "The Teddy Bear", or my "Project Eclipse" series. It was a lot of fun making those bases and reading your comments on them, but through some of these comments and through personal review of the bases, I realized I was not implementing enough Anti-Laloon mechanics into them. Some of the eclipse bases could defend against a laloon attack well, but a good one could take them down hard.

Now it is time to take things to the next level. Akiyume, a great base designer, inspired me to create a new series to defend well against the mighty new attack strategy named Laloon. Here's a link to his profile: http://forum.supercell.net/member.php/520263-akiyume
And here's a link to his latest base thread:http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...aloon-Concepts

These bases, as most of my other bases, will be anti 3 star. Do NOT expect to defend against 2 stars with them. It may happen because there are a lot of bad attackers out there, but these bases are designed to solely defend against the 3rd star. When you're up against a decent clan all the th9s will be 2 starred regardless of the design, so this is for the people who want to prevent the 3 star.

The series will be named Project a Solar Wind, because the wind will blow away the loons. I decided that instead of just naming the bases by numbers ill create a unique name for each one :P

Note that there will be no logs for these bases as logs do not show the attack itself, and do not prove anything. I will however post videos to help explain the mechanics of the bases.
Without further ado, let's get to the bases

    Current shift

    CC radius:

Current/direction of the loons is shifted away from the air defenses, hence the name

My clanmate will be testing this base in the current war so I hope he can be attacked by laloon or hogs to help explain how it works

    Mechanics of the base:

-Paths loons away from air defenses
Wherever the loons are placed they will have to go through multiple defenses before reaching the air defenses, giving the defenses a lot of time to take down the hounds. The loon pathing does not only steer them away from the air defenses, but also into wizard tower splash combined with air bombs. And by the time the loons get to the wizard towers they will be all bunched up and easy to kill with the splash.

    -Hard to pre-trigger giant bombs
The giant bombs are set up such that it is hard to pre-trigger them, it would cost at least 30-40 troop spaces to trigger each set, which will not leave enough space for the main attack.

-Air defenses not in range of the wizard towers
In project eclipse I explained how if the wizard tower range covers the air defense, then the hound will tank the wizard tower while the loons come to destroy it. Therefor it is necessary to have the wizard towers not touch the air defenses.

Of course there are other important mechanics to the base, but I have already explained them to detail in Project Eclipse, so there is no need to repeat them.

You can set skele traps to either air or ground, it's a matter of preference. Setting them to air would make hogging easier, and setting them to ground would make laloon easier. For now I am testing the air setting to see what works.

seems like this will be the only base in the series for now. Perhaps there will be more in the future.

Sweet, I am very interested to see how this works out. I am still testing my base but will give this a try soon.

Your base looks more solid compared to mine T_T, All of my bases (excluding series #3, which is the most used and balanced but I hate the most LOL) are lopsided and circular. Feel like your base has more [strength in all sides] foundation , while my base is more [Limit the enemy, Absorb the Damage] type of foundation.

Looks pretty solid but I don't like a lot of those springs. Put them on towers opposite of your AQ so that they will get hogs. Two flaws I notice however.

Weak to goho. The left dgb is disarmable by 2 loons on the left cannon followed by 6 hogs that path to the archer to the mortar to the wiz tower on the other side of the dgb. Not enough damage there so the hogs will get the wiz tower down and get the cc pull at the same time after which the golem + kill squad comes from the other dgb side with a jump to get close to the queen which is well placed but high heroes will still plow into the core.

Vulnerable to golaloon (not shattered). The bottom air defense and archer queen are accessible quite easily to a jump + golem + heroes which isn't a big deal because that is extremely hard to prevent. The real problem comes from the fact your towers are lined up perfectly for two loons to target the all at once as I move counterclockwise which consequently means they will path quickly to the air defense because the ring is completely broken.

Well done on the base and good use of storages and townhall to tank for the kill squad and I'm sure with a few tweaks you can make it very hard to take out by these strategies.
Recently returned from a ~2 year retirement. I may be an old dog, but I still got some tricks up my sleeve.

About the goho thing, there's a spring trap between the mortar and the wiz tower on the left, which makes a big difference i think. I know it's hard to see it lol.

about the loon thing, ur right, just need to have different defenses peek out to make the loons go different places.

thank you for the advice ill make the appropriate changes
