the AI would determine whether to use ranged or up close and personal.
These guys would have 2/3 attack as their archer counterparts and 2/3 the defense as their barb counterparts.

I'm pretty sure archer is ranged and barbarian is melee....
I dont think u understood. A unit that decides whether to use its sword or a bow.
