Thread: Prevent spying by restricting trap visibility to elders and higher

    You guys honestly get problems from spies? Who cares. They know where your giant bombs and teslas are; big deal, you can figure it out typically by analyzing the base yourself anyway (p.s. It's called strategizing). I had that problem once. He was from the enemy clan, He was like their 12th spot. I knew he was a spy. I let him in anyway saying he was a spy. He said he wasn't and he just wanted to say "good luck". It didn't matter. We were like2 stars away from having a perfect score on them. And they were about 30 stars behind us. Most clans that spy are bad, so they have to result to spying to Actually win a few. (Which still barely makes a difference)

    To reply to some of rwelshjr's points:

    Decoy bases don't work once war is started and the spy is still in your clan giving intel.
    We don't want to close our clan because we would like a small trickle of new members.
    The only applicants we get are those "total strangers from out of the blue during war," so we have no choice.
    not to sound obnoxious, but my clan only has 21 members and we are normally set to invite only. Right as we start searching for a war we close it off. Sure, we don't "recruit" people per se. But we do happily let new people into the clan. Just not during war. It is an easy to prevent spying of any sort. And spying is perfectly fine. It happens in real life. Its dangerous. They could easily discover you and kick you out, then no more spying for you during that war. And I am not ashamed at all to state that I am my clan's Top (and only) spy. A lot of times, spies aren't very thorough. You have to be observant and know who your enemies are in wars. We have had a spy join our clan one time when he was participating in the war. He was actually the same number as myself on the war bases, so I noticed pretty quickly and got rid of him. Ever since we have been closed for wars.

    Why does it have to be elder + that can see traps, but not normal members. Change the idea so only members with a 'new' status can't see traps.

    Maybe don't mess with "new" status or rank? War spectators should not be able to see the traps. It's that simple lol.

    But this would kill any and all spying, which isn't fair. Spying is a viable tactic, and since it hardly has any effect on the outcome of battle, why make such a big deal out of it? It honestly doesn't hurt anybody. all it does is anger one clan and give a tiny bit of intel to another.
