Title says it all..
I wasn't able to experience upgrading walls using elixir but I think this update caused an imbalance in the usage of resources at TH8...
You spend gold on towers/defenses which has two/three level upgrades, CC, TH, lots of traps, and expensive walls which leaves my gold storage always empty unless I don't have an idle worker.
DE is scarce/hard to loot and most of the time, my DE storage gets emptied when I upgrade my troops or BK.
What about elixir? You spend it on DE storage, barracks, dark barracks, lab, troop upgrades and building troops.
Now, compare the expenses for gold and elix... you'll see a big imbalance...
When you build farming troops, you spend less than 50k then get more than 100k loot. Some say spend elix on advance troops, but it takes too long to build one so you'll get raided before you could even build your army.
With barracks upgrades, you only need to upgrade one to unlock troops and the others are optional.
Troop upgrades on the lab takes too long, and also if you're upgrading dark troops, you don't use elix which also stalls your usage of elix for days...
So here's my suggestion:
-add a dark lab at th7 for upgrading dark troops
X-add a second lab at th8
Or maybe just bring back elix upgrade on walls ..
PS.
Don't bash me about this post. I didn't think much about the consequences/drawbacks of my suggestions

For those saying that there's no imbalance:
Ok, I challenge you to post your plan on how to properly upgrade a base from a fresh TH8 to a fully maxed TH8.
I'd like a timeline of your upgrades plus the amount of resources you used and amount that is left. Show us that both gold and elixir will have an almost equal amount when you reach a fully maxed TH8 with no elixir wasted. Assuming you have 4 or 5 builders and you spend 50k elixir for farming army and get a 150k-200k gold/elix per raid.
