Not strange at all. Supercell has never to my knowledge divulged any information related to their server infrastructure. Releasing the number of global chats would probably be the same as releasing the number of servers.

Also keep in mind that the number may not be fixed. I'm pretty sure they use AWS for their computing, meaning that they can potentially bring up and shutdown servers based on demand.

I find it strange that they don't acknowledge the question.

I don't see how it would be revealing anything confidential by giving a maximum number of players per global chatroom, or whether players are grouped into chatrooms by timezone or location. I don't have any knowledge about how servers work, so I may be wrong, but a reply indicating this would be far better than just ignoring the questions.

There's a whole lot of them out there
