... Can you read. The troop doesn't protect anything. Lets say that a troop does 100 damage (100 for easy math). With a Volcano Mage attacking the same building, this first troop now does 140 damage per hit. Assuming its a LVL 1 Volcano Mage. It makes OTHER troops attacks stronger. It has nothing to do with protection.
