Every clan I join called India speaks Hindi. I don't. India has over 100 languages in use. And anyway, Google translate is terrible. It COMPLETELY ignores all language rules. English sentence structure is Subject Verb Object or SVO. Most Asian languages, some European and African languages use SOV set up for sentences. Take Chinese for example. I want to translate:

"That was a lot of loot I found yesterday in that raid! I found a champions league person with maxed drills, mines, and collectors outside the walls! I can finally upgrade my Barbarian King!"

    It translates to:

    "这是一个很大的战利品我昨天在空袭中!我发现了一个联赛冠军的人有淋漓尽致钻头,矿山和外墙面的收藏家! 我终于可以升级我的野蛮人国王!"

    Meaning

"This is a big booty I airstrikes yesterday! I found a league champion who has thoroughly drill, mine and the outer wall of the collector! I can finally upgrade my barbarian king!"

Yeah, not so reliable. We can also take Albanian for a European example.

"Kjo ishte njė shumė e pre kam gjetur dje nė atė bastisje! Kam gjetur njė person tė Champions League me stėrvitje maxed, mina, dhe mbledhėsit jashtė mureve! Unė mė nė fund mund tė pėrmirėsuar Barbarian mbreti im!"

    Meaning

"It was a lot of loot I found yesterday in the raid! I found a person to exercise maxed Champions League, mines, and collectors off the walls! I finally can improve the Barbarian my king!"

    Again, it's failing.

Finally, an African example. Let's take Somali

"Taasi waxay ahayd wax badan oo bililiqada Waxaan helay shalay weerar in! Waxaan helay qof Champions League carbinta xarumihii, miinooyinka, iyo soo ururinayay lacagta ka baxsan derbiyada! Waxaan ugu dambeyntii ay casriyayso karaa Barbari King!"

    Meaning

"That was a lot of loot I found yesterday that the attack! I got a Champions League training centers, mines, and collectors outside of the walls! Finally, I can upgrade Barbarian King!"

    Uhhh...Close, I guess.

Oh and if you are wondering "They can use other translators", please go ahead and list them. This would take up so much space and it would translate wrong. It would also become useless. I mean, even though Google translate is theoretically the best translator, it messes up a lot.

Well, actually, it is your fault that you didn't learn their language. Wut? Did you think it was their fault for not learning your language?

From this thread I can see that OP wants to be in that clan and wants to understand them.

Google translate won't be too useful if you can't copy and paste.
Frankly, I don't think the language barrier is going to go away any time soon for OP.

SC will probably never implement a translator because it is really hard to translate with the correct grammar. There are so many rules.

Burmese (my language), has 9 parts of speech and how do think a machine is going to turn those 9 parts into English's 8 parts. Context also makes things really hard for machines to understand. Unlike humans, machines don't have a part of their CPU that is specialized for language recognition.

You guys may be laughing at Google Translate, but they have bad grammar because they use a statistic approach (because they decided they couldn't possibly code all the language conventions effectively). The more people use the langauges Google is translating, the more accurate it gets. Do we have to be patient. Languages that have been part of Google Translate for a long time, like Spanish and German, translate much more smoothly than new languages, like Burmese.

So all in all, computer translators aren't tht good right now and won't get much better for the next few years, so it is best for OP to find other clans instead of clinging to this one where he can't understand anything.
Logic is cold ............... Embrace it.

You have a good point. You just made most of the heavy criticism here useless. Good job.

I don't see how anyone could think this would be a bad thing. Sure it wouldn't be perfect but it would sure help. I'm looking at this from a different perspective than the OP though. I have no interest in joining a clan with a language that's predominantly different from mine. I'm more interested in understanding the few people who join my international clan but don't speak English. It sure would be nice to at least know what troop they're requsting without having to use a different app to figure it out. Having members from other countries joint our clan makes the game so much more interesting. It would be great if a language barrier wouldn't get in the way of that.

I also don't understand why so many people seem to always reject ideas because it would be too hard for SC to program, require too much server space etc. This is the top grossing mobile game in the history of the world. If anyone can do these things, it would be SC.

I do think a simple spell checker should take priority over a translator though. Sometimes those people you think are speaking a different language are just trying to type fast on their little mobile phone screen.

I know it would be nice to translate languages and all, but it would just be incredibly wrong. I see someone type in another language, translate it, and it becomes wrong. And also, most languages alive today use a different writing system and if they can't type that in CoC, they type it in English letters. For example, some people in my clan don't know how to install Hindi font, they type it in English letters. Let's say they wanted to ask "आपका नाम क्या?" meaning, "What is your name". They will type "Aapka nam kya hai?". The translator won't be able to translate it. Any language with this problem would be untranslatable. Also as I mentioned above, SVO is English but most languages use SOV structure. My own native language even uses OSV sometimes.

I also don't understand why so many people seem to always reject ideas because it would be too hard for SC to program, require too much server space etc. This is the top grossing mobile game in the history of the world. If anyone can do these things, it would be SC.
It would take so much server space to allow everyone to translate every language. If they do not allow every language, then people will start complaining. Do you even program bro?

"Hi wer r u rite nou m8"? Looks like a foreign language to you? Sorry, but I think no one has a problem with slang.

I don't have a problem with slang, text jargon, chat abbreviations etc. but either I misspelled something or you have a problem with proper English because that's not what I was referring to at all. There was a little bit of sarcasm in my last comment too that you apparently didn't pick up on.
