I don't have this problem. I do not find it necessary.

You can hit the End Battle to cancel the attack if you did not drop a troop.

This is already in the list of suggested ideas. Please read the sticky prior to posting:

    * No default troop selected upon entering battle - avoid accidental battle starts

In the meantime, be more careful. I don't think I have EVER accidentally started a battle.

No default troop selected is already in the official under consideration list. No default troop, can't drop one on accident. Elegant, simple and way overdue.

Would like this added, mostly for the simple reason to stop the repeat of this idea of a confirmation message Excuse me for taking the liberty of modifying the format of the quote. Just using it to make my own statement on the issue.

I'm mostly fine without it ('it' being no default troop selected), but it would be nice to have. I manage not to accidentally deploy by putting most of the non-deployable area on accident prone spots on the screen. Hardly ever had an accidental deployment, even while tired and falling asleep!... Except last night Was so fast, and the unit died so quickly, I didn't realized I tapped just above the next button, and was wondering for a very long moment why the music changed and why my Next button was gone (So much for the X amount of days with no accident record)

OK OK yes, add this in please! Damn Murphy's Law has come to frick'n visit or something!

Was scouting a revenge target, seeing if they were still attackable while getting dragons and spells ready, and instead of panning the screen, my thumb apparently was in one spot too long and just dumped barbarians right at the only damn open, deployable, spot there was on my screen! ♥♥♥! I 'won' with marginal loot, but the full score of loot, especially the Dark Elixir, was totaly shot.
