Having able to build lvl 8 walls with elixir is just making the elixir worth of doing something, I do not get why some ppl says it ruining the economy. Seriously, it jus th8 ppl with more skull walls, thats it. And having excess elixir attracts those th9 and loses of trophy and resources, furthermore, th8 players will not be using crazy troops to attack th9 which is a stress on th9 players. Moreover,donating troops have a limit when u build special troops doesnt mean ppl wants it and the lvl may not be what they wanted so its kinda hard to relied on just donating troops to reduce the elixir and the amount of time spent to wait for clanmates to request ? Its ridiculously.

Well, yes and no. I don't think it's "fair" that TH9's can dump elixir into their level 9 walls, but TH8's can't do the same for their level 8 walls.

With elixir for walls, a level 9 wall really isn't any more expensive than a level 8 wall. A TH9 can get 2 L9 walls if they have 1M of each resource. A TH8 can get 2 L8 walls if they have 1M of each resource.

But the level 8 wall only adds 500 hit points. It doesn't make the wall any stronger against level 5 or higher wall breakers, so it adds very little protection against strong TH8's, let alone TH9's or TH10's. Its main usefulness is against level 4 wall breakers. Yeah, better protection against TH7's and early TH8's. Whoop-tee-doo!

The level 9 wall adds 1000 hit points. It requires an extra level 5 wall breaker to get through, so better protection against maxed TH8's trying to use GoWiPe.

TH9's get a wall that's arguably worth twice as much as the level 8 upgrade. And the way walls are priced (approximately exponential), that means it should easily cost 1.5M gold only. Instead, it costs 1M gold or elixir. It's dirt cheap, as walls go. By far the cheapest wall, relative to the overall progression of walls.


But here's the thing: if TH8's could dump elixir into walls, it would drain a ridiculous amount of elixir out of the economy. That ruins the game for TH10's, and makes TH9 pretty tedious, as they would be stuck raiding TH7's for loot.

Personally, I think level 9 walls need to be made available with gold only, or the price needs to be increased. If not the gold price, then at least the elixir price. I'd be fine with level 9 walls costing 1M gold or 2M elixir. They'd still be pretty cheap, but it would make it harder for TH9's to drain their elixir out of the economy.

hi
i didn't read the whole topic, but i read some other topics and
i know that walls lvl 9+ can be upgraded with Elixirs
i also know that about 9 months ago lvl 6+ walls could be upgraded with elixirs... (5 months before i start clash)

But.... still there are some numbers to mention

i just have upgraded my TH to level 8 (from a Maxed TH7 except collectors)
i expended about 40 million Gold and elixir after coming to TH8
i need a total of 37 million elixir and 179 million gold For a max TH8 (Buildings and labortory)
i have a total of 50000 donations and 30000 donations from TH8

and now (exactly now) i have 6 million Elixirs, and 1 million gold on my storages... and all my elixir from raids will be waisted until i upgrade my TH to 9...
and if i rush my town hall, it will ruin my clan war...

So what should I do with these Elixirs?
only donate? 140000000 elixirs?
it will be 3888 dragons 77777 donates ... (best possible way to spend elixirs :|)

some people say upgrading walls with elixirs, with cause elixir shortage, but... what they say about the current gold shortage? maybe they passed TH8 and now they want Their own Profit as TH9,10 player...
why i have to stop raiding because of my full elixir storages?


I dont, know but it really makes me angry and it looks like supercell wants players to but gold with gems...
