I don't see how it's fair how an lvl 121 can attack me, im lvl 74 in crystal league 2, I totally get why people drop down the leagues as there's more inactive bases down there, but there must be a away to severely limit the amount of loot so it's just not worth attacking a smaller Base, or by restricting the higher lvls to attack bases of similar strength.

what town hall are you? at a guess I would say TH8, so I put this to you how would a th7 fair attacking a th8 not very well, the same as a TH8 attempting a TH9 raid, though with maxed troops it can be done well, similarly th9 with maxed troops could have a fair stab at th10s but still find it very difficult if they don't.
The moment you eliminate the food from the chain, the whole dynamics of the game, raiding other peoples villages crumbles and withers away, thus ruining the game.

Then what are you doing in Crystal 2? You're obviously in way too high of a league. Levels mean nothing. We had a former clan member who complained about this on a daily basis. His problem was that he was a severely rushed TH8 so TH9s pummeled him nonstop.
Drop to a lower league where you won't get hit so hard.
People twice my rank keep attacking me. I have no problem giving up resources but trophies are another thing. A level 100 should not get any trophies at all for attacking a level 50. This is an easy thing to fix and would keep people attacking within range of their own levels. Quit making excuses for a crappy battle system and fix this. Basically you are penalizing players who are doing well by letting players attack them who the lower rank has no chance of defending against, and just handing trophies to higher level players. I have quit attacking all together but keep making trophies because of good defenses. Eliminate the easy pickings and make people earn their trophies.
dude trophy is depend ranks and should stay the same theres some low TH in high ranks like master they have no loot for ppl up there but have trophy (note strong ppl in low ranks dont care about trophy so it wont stop it at all)People twice my rank keep attacking me. You what?.... Very few clashers give a monkeys about trophies! They are a side product, accumulated as a result of going for loot, and win bonuses. (for most)

I agree with the OP. In matchmaking, and once you hit TH6 and above, you should only be allowed to attack Town Halls that are one level below you (or higher, of course). And if you do attack a TH below you, you should get slightly less loot than you already do. And an even more reduced amount of trophies.
are u kidding if a player attack someone 2 TH lvl lower he got 50% loot penalty so its hyper rare and theres already a loot penalty of 10% if he was 1 TH higher (not to forget rusher who will quit if it was TH VS TH match up)
