In the end they are wasting their elixir, and trading for dark elixir.. you dont even get much for it. if you dont want your dark elixir to be stolen i suggest spending it before it is stolen. good luck

Spend it? Do u know heroes lvl 15++ take a week to upgrade right? Beside this makes farmer lazier to get those DE, i know those zappers use barch, so its easy to get elixir

Why?

Lightning is supposed to damage buildings or troops in a small area, and damage to resource buildings means lost loot. It's worked this way since the game started, long before DE was in the game.
