Please read the post before telling me to check the stickies. I've read the stickies and searched the threads and although the idea of a duel is regularly posted, I think this idea is sufficiently different.
To spice up the wars a little I thought we could introduce the idea of duels.
How this would work is during preparation day, a player can challenge one of the opposition clan to a duel. The duel will take place during battle day, where the duelists have to spend one of their attacks on the other's base. The winner is decided by the star system however if both players get the same amount of stars, then it's decided by the highest percentage destroyed.
The winner of the duel earns their clan an additional star on top of what they earned during the battle. There is also personal gain. When the challenge is issued, the challenger will wager a proportion of their resources on the outcome and the opponent should they accept has a chance to raise the stakes and the loser forfeits the stake to the winner.
If a player declines a challenge to a duel, then they must pay a small penalty to their resources - nothing major just a small price for cowardice (the clash equivalent of a glass of wine thrown in the face or a slap from a glove). If the player who was challenged raises the stakes and the challenger then bottles out of the duel, then the challenger concedes their initial wager to their opponent.
To make sure this feature was not abused a few restrictions would be put in place. A challenger would not be able to challenge an opponent more than 3 places lower than them on the war board and also, they could not challenge a lesser town hall level. A challenger can challenge a higher town hall level but no more than 5 places higher than them on the war board. There should also be a cap on the amount of resources that can be wagered and a cap on the amount of duels that can take place per war.
Please offer your criticism - including maybe features you'd add, change or remove. The likelyhood of this being implemented is small but I thought it might be fun to discuss.
