    This.

I've been working on lavaloons for about 4-5 weeks now in war and I've got it far from down. Spell placement and troop deployment are critical. Not to mention clever placement of the queen and skelly traps on defense can easily cause the balloons to bunch up and miss one entire side of defenses. I also have problems with my minions bunching up on both sides and circling the outer ring like a poorly placed Pekka.

If that clan is getting easy 3 stars it's because they've got a lot of experience doing it and have perfected their technique. It's an attack that people assume is easy because of tough talkers on here, but in reality it's a strategy that takes time and practice to master.

I should mention I just use 2 hounds because as a TH9 the 4 hounds eat up too much space.

You could always try to set your base up to defend this attack instead of just trying to defend against gowipe/gowiwi.
I assume the war was a tie since its so easy to 3 star every base right?

Lavaloon really isn't that hard to defend.

Just have centralized archer queen and ADs.

Make sure each AD is covered by at-least 1 other ad.
double up black bombs on the ads.

Make sure wiz towers DO NOT cover ADs.
double up red bombs on wiz towers.

Hounds will all rush center, balloons get eaten alive by wiz towers and double red bombs.

It def takes some practice. A centralized, unlurable CC filled with valk + barbs will serve you much better on defense. Skeleton traps to ground too. You're probably wondering why.

Nothing defensive wise makes a real dent in a lavaloonion Yes wiz help, but what they usually do is pull minions in on top of the th........so you want stuff that DOESN'T shoot air. Valk + barbs.

This is for when the attacker fails at his air 3* and has to drop heroes to get the TH.......3 skelly traps and 25/30/35 barbs will provide the ultimate distraction for those heroes. I've fought off I can't tell you how many 2*'s this way........

What OP really was trying to say:

Someone was better than us and beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of us which is impossible, because we're pr0's. Booohooo.

I, a Lavaloonioner, can tell you that we (my fellow lavaloonioners from clan and I) are FAR from bored using this strategy. Every war we're excited to see what bases we get to attack and plan our attacks. We get even more excited when we do our job and get to try out the mastodons which are TH10's.

    There's a reason it's called "Black Death"

Or maybe you can place wizards in CC as neither Hounds nor Loons can kill them.
