Usually I make time for Clash (Especially because Im a Co-Leader ). But quite frankly, I see your point, but I also think that you need to just make a farming base and suck it up. If they are more tempted/lazy to get the cups over the loot, then you have a "Win-Win" situation. You get your shield, and they get their loot bonus/cups.

Or 2, if they take your loot.......Actually dont let that happen in the first place. Good clans always like to see th8 with lvl 8 walls, so invest the Gold into walls. You dont need to accumulate more than 600k gold per wall (keep 100k for searching), and so other attackers wont attack you either because of your low gold. I myself only recruit th8 that have more than 50% of skulls done. Later on, do the defenses if/when you do accumulate enough from War+Storages. As for Dark Elixir, I myself as a th9 loves to pick off easy th8. But I always make sure to stay away from difficult and lvl 8 walls th8. Though my heroes are 10/15, walls may be intimidating for many th9 as they slow your attack up and give your Wizard Towers/Mortars a chance to kill the Barch/GiBarch attack. Another thing for DE is create a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DE protecting base! They help a lot and though they may sacrifice some Gold/Elixir, its worth it as they are valuable. Ill create a little agenda of what you should do and what the results are:

    Cause
Level up your walls to lvl8, they are extremely intimidating and make th9 attackers back off:

    Result:
You lose less DE because th9 dont want to attack a base like that
The walls make you look impressive and accepted into a variety of better clans
The walls slow any attack down and in any case will make the attacker difficult and question whether it was a good idea to attack the base, which also goes into my main sentence ^^.
You lose less loot in general

    Cause:
You lose less DE because th9 dont want to attack a base of your caliber:

    Result:
Your Barbarian King and Dark troops go up

    Cause:
You retain more Elixir and Gold

    Result:
You upgrade your defenses and troops

    Cause:
Your Barbarian King and Dark troops go up

    Result:
You are accepted into a variety of better war clans/farming clans
    You are more respected
You can take on more th8s and three star them

You see? Doing walls opens up a lot of positive paths for you to explore. Although they may be tedious and difficult, only the best clans recruit taking into consideration walls. I myself had a very passionate hatred towards walls, but its changed after a few months of warring and playing clash seriously. So, I hope Ive helped you, but if you have learned nothing at all, DO WALLS! Oh, You might want to switch clans if you are donating x3 more than the people around you....

PS...... 200th post! (Sounds lame :/)

Is that true? If I delete the app, does the village disappear, or does it live on forever on the servers, abandoned, attackable?

And... that's it. People apparently have been distracting me too much from the original idea to really get anywhere.

So much spam from people assuming too much ♥♥♥♥ and thinking I'm wanitng things I didn't say I wanted in the first place. It was about "how can CoC be a causal game with those given examples?", only for people to think I was ranting about my own personal problems with the game, when more than half of those problems I said I personal have no problems with (but ask how do others handle it).

You are making some bad assumptions that this thread is about me, but I do like the input none the less. I do have a DE defending base (duh, read my signature ), with the other loot right there for the taking, but nope, they go after the DE. Pretty soon, I'm going to have no reason to get store a lot of a Dark Elixir, since I'm surprisingly close to getting enough DE for a lvl 10 King, and can't level up any more after that. Hogs lvl3 are being done in the lab now, because I had to dump DE or get attacked again, and the last thing in the lab is minions.

But now that I know walls are that intimidating, @#$% I'll just raid every day like I wanted to, instead of wait for upgrades to finish, and just build up walls!

I already have my skull walls placed in key spots, slowing down non-wall breaker units (love how predicable units are ), and even then, I have a base that is wall breaker resistant, requiring 3-4 waves to bust the center, as they go after less useful T joints. Even a WB dump that somehow goes towards the middle section, rather than WB luring corners, will trip traps and off the little bone heads. My base is good, just have yet to level everything up. Mortars are done, and my last A.D. will be finished by end of this week. Plus builders are working on other stuff as well.

As for the clan, I have a few options. Stick with it as is (Co-leader & 2nd in command), overthrow the leader via peer pressure (yes I am that well liked! ), or just leave and join another, or make a new one, taking half or more of the good people with me. Thankfully for the leader, I'm not the power grabbing type, but then again, I guess that's why I'm also well liked.

It aill be abandoned, and be loot bait for farmers like me, adding much needed resources to the game... assuming you leveled up your mines and collectors as much as possible. I hate bases that don't do that..

After 180 days or so, it may or may not be deleted.

If anything, been testing out not collecting loot from my mines and collectors for half a day or more to attract farmers to attack, and give me a shield. Would work more often, if only I didn't also hold so much Dark Elixir, and attract storage raiders. Oh well, more DE zap targets..
I don't use barcher personally...instead I make about 12 giants, 12 wizards, 8 wbs, and the rest a mix of barbs archer and minions. It's enough troops to use mostly cheap ones to get bases that haven't been collected (you don't always need all the wiz/giants/wbs), and enough power to get to storages. More people use these armies in crystal, which leads to less zapping because you could spend the same amount on an army as you do on lightning, get the de, and make your e back in the process.

The problem the strategy you're proposing isn't so much the loot you're leaving in the collectors, it's that your base sits in the search queue, so more people have a chance to come across it, and it also makes your shield less predictable. Sometimes with my TH out I get sniped even if I haven't collected for over 12 hours.

People also make the mistake of thinking putting your TH out makes your base a farming base, but that's not really true. I've sat in masters with a low TH9 with my TH out, and many players who go to champ when they're TH8 or below do too. The logic here is if most people can beat you anyway, you might as well give them a free star. They'll usually take it and leave you alone. If you're attacking at least once a day you can maintain trophies, and if you're not winning at least one in three defenses, you're losing more than you gain by trying to protect your TH anyway.

    huh.. thanks for the tips?

When did the 'Ideas and Suggested Features' forum become 'Attacking Strategies' forum?

The thread's main idea was how can the game be called casual (assuming it is), with the given examples?

Now if you got some ideas to help improve gameplay, I'd be more than happy to talk about it. But much of this thread has been derailed by stuff like this (nothing personal, I know you want to help), which just hurts the thread's chances of being useful for it's intended purpose.

If you have to babysit the game and you care that much for the game, perhaps it's time to admit you have a CoC addiction problem.

    I don't know...did you initially request a feature? Because I didn't see one.

I get what you're saying, but like others have said, I don't think the game is *intended* to be casual. It's intended first and foremost to make money for Supercell. And they make money because people who can't babysit their game but want a high level base buy gems for shields and upgrades.

If you are a casual player, you join a casual clan, you check in whenever, you don't really worry about upgrading your stuff much. Maybe you do one war a week, pick a day, and make sure everyone is showing up so you at least have one day when you know people are around do fill donations, and you're not getting into wars where half your clan is MIA. If you want to upgrade stuff, you maybe try some of the things I or others have said, and once you get within a million or so, you boost some barracks, your heroes, and probably your spell factory, you raid for 2 hours, and then you spend it immediately.

If you really want those upgrades, you check in more, you raid more, or you just buy them. Really this was never about an idea or feature, but about how you want to play the game.

This is how supercell DESIGNED THE GAME! See now that you're stressed out about it, you're checking it ALL THE TIME. Which is just what Supercell wants.

First of all your topic doesn't belong on this forum so don't be such a wiseass. Don't start a topic concerning your 'personal' problems expecting someone else to provide an idea or suggestion to fix them.

Second of all the game is as casual as the player chooses it to be. Not every player recognizes these 'so called' problems as actual problems, it's just part of the game. It's not realistic to rush through the game without spending some currency. Take your time enjoy the game, and ffs enjoy your life.
