Babysitting your game? Wait, I didn't sign up for this?!

Babysitting and this game is one of tha main reasons for building big structures. Everybody wants big loot of yours. I dont turn off the game and babysit them till i reach 8 mil from 5-6 mil. Your beginning to be very atractive for the players from 5 mil. There is no other choice..

Actually once you pass a certain point (2 or 3 million I believe), you've reached the max someone can steal from your storages, so it doesn't really matter whether you have 4 or 7.


In general however, once you get most of your defenses upgraded at TH8, you can leave your TH out and 80% of the time you'll get a 12 hour shield before someone tries to steal your loot, particularly if you sit between 1900 and 2100 trophies. This minimizes babysitting, since you know basically all you have to do is check in twice a day before the 12 hours are up. Once in the morning, once at night.

Here's an idea: if you don't like that you have to "babysit" your game, you could just delete it and never play it again.

  • The only thing that is really time sensitive is that in wars you have 2 attacks to do in 24h everything else is determined by how you want to play and what clan you are in. Never want to attack? You can sit somewhere log in 2 times a day and collect from mines/pumps build what you can there you go, Want to break the all time season attack record? Play non stop from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to bed for 2 weeks straight. The game is what you make it, many people here play long stretches and lament the fact that they can now only play 2-4 hours a day.

I guess I brainstorm differently than some. I rant, somewhere, and once the problem is 'out of my head' and into words, it's like I've freed up space, or defined things well enough to attack the problem. Haven't had much time to think about it yet, but have a few things that may help... may, but.. Anyway...

Could have a longer grace period for an idle app, or... dare I say, some kind of shield for when you are activity raiding. Fixing this is a hard one, since really, besides the defense ideas I've already came up with (http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...Defence-Revamp), the only other options are to do some weird stuff with shields, which in all honestly, doesn't work or help things.

For revenge attacks, having a shield up as soon as possible for sleep helps block others that have activity schedules too different from you to ever hope to revenge attack, since they'd have a shield up when they are asleep and when you are awake. Other than that, some drastic change on the revenge system has to be done, and preferably not involving attacking while one has a shield. Have made this long idle thread on the subject, http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...evenge-attacks , so it isn't like this is a new issue to me.

Ok, now you are tempting me to actually switch clans. Congrats, you are the first person to actually give a good argument for that. ... But I do have quite a bit of sway in the clan, and not just from the donations... Gah, will have to think on this later!

Lol, watching TV and raiding 'casually' is the only way I can keep the game up, logged on, and raid safely too. Nice to hear I'm not the only one.

Can't see anyone raiding much on those downtimes in school or work, without lossing progress and getting ticked off from breaking shield and trying to catch up from being raided. Now for clan wars, that's a different story. Can have it up, and have it play replays like having a TV show up. Done that at work Then took a few minutes for break to do my attack.

Got a point on how to play, but those are two extream examples. Mind you, I'm not going to say much on those aside from personal opinion on are they really having fun playing that way. I'm looking more for ways to improve game play for most people, and not exactly tell people how to play, since everyone is different. I say 'not exactly' since, like everyone, it is hard not to comment on noticeably different ways of play. But all in all, I'm not one to activity go out like some hyper idealistic game dictator, telling others they are wrong for not playing a set way. (not naming names.. Idk who does that off hand, but some do)

I'm a teen, but I only play CoC and Hay Day combined for about 2-3 hours max per day.. Usually just around an hour though. I haven't had to many problems with being attacked tbh.. And I'm a semi maxing TH7... But I agree with most of what you said nevertheless.

Thanks. Any ideas that could help make things more enjoyable (ones I haven't suggested yet)? Open to ideas. Have several threads on gameplay improvements.

Wiki has the lootable percentage and caps, and it is about 2 million for me at TH8, and 3 million for TH9.

Hey great! Half way into that idea. Testing out Crystal III at the moment, enjoying my Barcher army getting paid for by the loot bonus when I win, and will eventually get my stuff upgraded. However I'm too stubborn to ever do a 'farming base'. If anything, been testing out not collecting loot from my mines and collectors for half a day or more to attract farmers to attack, and give me a shield. Would work more often, if only I didn't also hold so much Dark Elixir, and attract storage raiders. Oh well, more DE zap targets..

All you're doing is ranting. You're not offering a suggestion to the "problem" that you have. Clash of Clans is a HUGE game with millions of players (or accounts...) and you know that once you break or run out of a shield, you are vulernable to attacks from anybody. Yes, it sucks majorily when you log off and somebody attacks you. Sometimes I swear they attack me as I'm exiting, but whatever.

Secondly, if you want to get revenge, you could train a decent army with spells as you're going to bed and hope and hope and hope that somebody doesn't have a shield in the morning so you can revenge them. That's what I do, and I get revenge on a lot of players.

Thirdly, that sounds like a personal/clan problem.

And - what are you suggestions to these problems you have? Or are you just ranting in the wrong forum?

These points are exactly what Supercell makes money off of (which is a good thing. If Supercell made no money, there would be no CoC!) If you don't wanna be raided, buy a shield. Tired of waiting for troops to train? Boost. Pretty much all of the things you find bad about the game can be solved with gems. If you play without the buying of gems, like me, you have to learn to deal with it. If you don't want your resources stolen, put your town hall outside of your base! I just get sniped 90% of the time, and I get a nice 12 hour shield. If you don't ever get raided when you log out, then nobody else would either, so have fun collecting loot from your pumps and mines! Hope you max out your base soon!

Look, you were "super rude" to start with, so if you can't take it in return, then I'm sorry for you that you can't take it.

Plus, don't give away my tactic I use for my revenge attacks, or other people might actually find the feature useful (Yes, I know how to revenge attack. Tell me something I don't know. And learn to read. I'm not having issues attacking if you honestly read the post, and knew how I revenge attacked)

Honestly, based on how badly you screwed up on your logic, and how overly angry you are, stop replying for now. Step back, and come back to this in a day or two after you have calmed down. You will make more mistakes, and this arguments will just go nowhere for either of us. It is easier said than done, but I'm being serious here.

Didn't I just say that gems couldn't solve most of those issues?

What about the teenagers playing this? Even I had homework and a social life to attend to back then, before graduating and a mediocre job and depression killed much of the finer things in life for me. How the heck are they expected to have fun with time sensitive 'stuff' like that happening in-game, an addictive game at that? And no, you can't expect them to just gem the problems away. Not all of it can be, nor will most want to spend that much money, let alone for that long.

Granted, this is a popular, top grossing game, that got lucky and put Supercell on the map, able to even make a frick'n Superbowl ad for (link of ad in my signature BTW), but this game could use some major tweaks in gameplay to remove the stress in playing. More people would feel like staying, which means more people would feel like spending real money for gems.

Yup! I did! And.. and I talked about what could increase gem purchases. Read dude.. read.. and learn..
