    Just do what's more fun for you. To me, upgrading walls is a grind while upgrading defenses and/or getting new ones is more fun.

    I've seen plenty of both "focus on walls over defenses" and "you shouldn't even build walls at all, and here's why" threads, and I'm convinced either method, or any in between works just fine. So do what you enjoy most.

    Totally agreed. We also formed our new clan based on this concept. Our clan description reads "OFFENSE FIRST".

    Its also interesting that actually this means "rushed" bases with little defense but upgraded troops could be a huge asset in war..... Lets imagine TH9 with 3 AD6s, rest TH7 level defenses, with lavaloon.

    I believe you are right..my clan has neglected heroes..and we match up with equal enemy bases but..level 30-40 royals..and we lose more often than ever before.

    Does anybody else think about this type of issue this way (ill explain below)...?

    -hogs were op, so they waited until everybody had spent on hogs then nerfed them repeatedly
    -lavaloon is having a moment now, until they feel theyve gotten their money out of it, then itll be nerfed
    -barch gets nerfed over and over (4th mortar, hit points) then buffed (lvl7) so people can spend on them again

    so right now the th.5 thing is crazy op. As i posted once long ago, a properly engineered clan will never lose. Or lose 1/100.

    so following the pattern of the developers of this very psyciatrically engineered game, shouldnt we expect th.5s to get a hard nerf at some point in the future to send them all scrambling for defenses.... so they can spend on them?

    And on a side note, it occurs to me thst forcing gross mismatches on clans from time to time might be another psychgineered aspect of the game, something theyve calculated will hook people harder?

    .5 is using the rushers' approach and rushers exist for long time SC won't change that. Rushing is not only for CW, it for farming too.

    Part of the game, it's up to clashers to choose what to upgrade.

    The game is designed to alternately frustrate and reward players. A key part of the design is to frustrate them often enough. A gross mismatch is frustrating. I suspect there is a layer in the algo to "punish" clans on a long enough win streak, to frustrate them into ... of course, spending. On those upgrades that could have won that war if only...

    They made war a core part of coc, THE core part of clans (only way to gain perks), for only one reason: they must have determined it was the most profitable aspect of the game. They will let th.5s run and flourish for a long time because the new trend will cause a wave of spending. For maxers now rushing to .5 to try to get back even in war.

    Then when "everyone" is a th.5, they will nerf clan engineering , probably without even announcing it. Itd just take a shift in the balance of o to d in the algo.

    constantly frustrated but seeing a light at the end of the tunnel of our frustration. Thst is their goal, the up and down cycles of a crackhead, on a lighter scale. Il never download another supercell game in my life.

    except extremely opposite to farming rushing, extremely opposite. Those gibarch troops the farmers rushed? Useless or near useless in war.

    war rushing would leave giants at 1, barch at 4, and max abcdefg used in war.

    Rushing for loonion, lv7 barch & 240 troops is what we rush for farm troops.

    There are 5 TH9 opponents in my current war, and the two with maxed xbows are #3 and #4 of those.



    The OP raises a great point, but you'd need to start your game over again. Not only that, but you'd need a team that collective had this planned out.


    (there are some clans like that out there).


    There are some defenses that are more valuable farming and more valuable in war. Mortars, for example, are absolutely necessary for countering common barch attacks, however in war they're a very low hit point liability which will only work when firing on skeletons or scant T1 troops.
