Like many clashers I know, I'm very attached to my village. Clappers and builders and troops live a good life in my village. They are happy and prosperous. We love watching our village grow.
However, I do not look forward to upgrading past town hall 8. TH9 and TH10 look dark and evil. My people do not wish to go dark side. But I understand how some might.
I propose a feature to switch the TH aesthetics at town hall 9 or 10. A light side and dark side type of choice. The light side town hall will only really change the color theme of the town hall; however it would nice if the ivy growing on the side of TH8 continues to be themed in TH9. Some players might chose to allow their village to go dark and intimidating. Some may chose to live in harmony with nature and their surroundings.
I know TH identification is important in many aspects of the game. Perhaps the light themed TH9/10 could keep the same icon in clan wars, and same structural layout when raiding so that players can still easily identify TH level. But I bet it would be interesting to see who in your clan chooses light vs dark.
I have no current opinion on the apperance of walls or other structures at the high levels. I know those would be technically difficult to theme and difficult for other players to dicern their level. For example, when raiding other villages it would be too much to try to identify the level of structures and high level walls if their were two possible appearances (light and dark).
Also, what if a player changes their mind about the appearance of the TH? I like the idea that the change would be permanent or at least until the next TH upgrade. But, perhaps some would not. I could suggest simple radio buttons to switch between the light and dark as they wish.
