How come people farm DE to upgrade Heroes non stop?

Why wouldn't you farm your heroes non-stop? They are the longest upgrade in the game at just under a year without gemming. Plus, the less time they are asleep the more you can war! I've just started to do my heroes non-stop after I finished the main dark troops in the lab. I probably won't be warring until Christmas at this rate!

Here is my de army (TH10, heroes around lvl25):
12 giants
80 archers
60 barbarians
32 goblins
4 wall breakers

Spells: 2 rage, 2 jump, 1 heal + poison


This is a 25 minute army. Dont use spells, if you dont need them and you can do a jump/rage combo every second raid. Also take care of the queen, because she is the one who snipe the de storage most of the time.

My defenses are all done (except walls), so I dont have to care about builders any more. If I upgrade my heroes, I save up 200K de, then upgrade the king, empty the cc loot and farm as much as possible until I can upgrade the queen. While my queen is in upgrade I dont farm at all, and start again if she is available again.

Using super queen I manage around 25k on a good day... When my queen is upgrading though, I use Gibarch... Not as good but still 10-12k a day

The maximum that I have looted in a day was 60k. It was a rainy Sunday, and I attacked every 30 minutes or so while watching a movie or reading a novel.

You need to play a lot, and I mean a lot, to keep your heroes upgrading constantly after lvl 20. Mine are 26 and 25 now, and I have given up on getting 250K DE per week to have them both upgrading. There are other things to do too

EDIT: Plus, you may have other things to upgrade like defences or lab upgrades!

If you have maxed farming troops ( barb arch gob giant ) then i can say 30k de a day is an easy task you will need to be enough online ( not addicted ) also you need max your 3 drills. About 50k a day, i never reach such rate

I always boost barracks when I play at night. 2hr boost is sooooo worth it! My AQ is 39(almost got the DE for 40!!) and BK is 37. I also always gem the time on them before my war attacks. I put them down after my last attack and finish them just before I attack next. We war twice a week, so that's usually a couple days down, which is still too much for me lol. It's completely worth the gem cost to be able to war and raid with them. No way I am not warring or playing the game with the heroes I am busting my butt to get DE for. I mean for $100 you can gem like 20 or more levels worth of time, just waiting a couple days. I'd rather do that, then watch them sleep for months, cheap entertainment in my book.

I do nothing fancy and farm in masters 2. You find full drills every 3 snipes and snipes every 4 mins. Dead bases around 3 per hour.

Lavas almost done and heroes down constantly extremely easily this way.

I make the decision to go all-out to upgrade heroes about Sep-2014. Early TH9 with heroes in early teens.
Upgrade both non-stop until Dec-2014 maxed TH9, heroes late teens.
Jan-2015 start TH10, upgrade AQ only non-stop until Jun-2015.
Jun-2015 upgrade BK non stop until Oct-2015 (in progress now).

AQ40/BK36.5 currently. More than one year of upgrading non-stop, one or both.

Is it worth it ? AQ40 alone helps me climb back from 35-37% into a 50% 1 star farming win.
In war, as long as AQ stays behind several Golem tanking, she can also get the TH + 50% = 2 stars.

Yeah totally worth it. I used to worry about 2 starring some TH10s, but with close to max heroes now, it's kinda hard not to 2 star. Hit a max TH10 last war and got an 80% 2 star. Once they both hit 40, I might try some 3 star attacks on the better TH10s, just don't have anyone else in my clan who can back me up if I fail, so usually stick to 2 stars attacks, but get higher %, which matters now.

It all depends on troop composition you take for the attack, for me in-order to save all resources.
I go with 100arch, 10 Giants, 4WB rest all goblins. Cheap and best troop combination to make quick robbery. Yes for DE it all depends on finding bases who are inactive and all resources are in pumps & collectors or like some one said here, drills and storage near to walls.
