Great video, but just wondering you don't lure the cc with a few archers or barbs and kill it with one loon ? That would save your king and queen if you happen to need them for some cleaning out at the end of the battle...

0 for 2 so far. I like the strategy. Used it in both my attacks this last war. In both, the loons pathed wrong at one point. In both scenarios they actually targeted a farther defense instead of an AD. Perhaps just dumb luck. The second attack I lost a hound prior to getting the rages down. So it required a second hound to pop to get the queen. Even with that though I should have had the 3 star except for odd loon pathing. The second one was just a half tile further, but in the first attack the defense was at least one and a half tiles further. Just odd. Both were against pretty much max th9 defenses with AQs of lvl 9 and 12.
The ADs being missed are the farther ADs. Not sure if you can do anything about this? If they go by the AD and try and come back, game over. The second one was probably the most frustrating. 2 separate groups of loons headed to the last AD. The first group just decided that the tesla next to the AD was tastier though slightly further due to it not being directly in line with the loons. They got the tesla and almost the AD. The second, more massive group, which would have been closer to the tesla had it still remained but without it there was a useless cannon they agro'd to first which took them away from the AD (not outside it's range of course).
So in all it's a good strategy. Just not immune to the RNG shoving it where the sun don't shine.
Great tutorial, I have been PentaLaLooning for a few wars now, with mostly great success (save for a couple brain fart events). I would like to know your opinion on if there is ever a Queen lvl that you would consider needing to Kill her prior to the main attack, perhaps with a Golem to push to the core first.

Hey guys,
Thank you all for the support. Glad you guys are getting on well with the strategy. We've got lots of players in the Centum family currently learning to use LavaLoon and this war has just thrown up something I wanted to add to my Penta strategy.
So here's a video explaining what is, I think, one of the golden rules of planning a PentaLava attack.
What is your name on YouTube I will follow you.

Could you speak more on the exact placement of the rage spells. I notice that the first 2, you just catch the AD, you do not place it right on the AD. Also, the timing of dropping the 5th lava hound. I can tell you know why you dropped it, but I am not sure if you are waiting for the AD to target another hound first, or if it is something else.

Props Dart! I 6 starred last war using your pent guide on upper TH 9sThanks!
Of course Amber. Both good questions. OK so the placement of the initial rages is very important indeed. Here is the kind of check-list I consider when deciding the position on the rage spells:
- They must cover the first two ADs to help the balloons to destroy them.
- They must cover the AQ in order for the Pups to kill her.
- They must 'carry' the majority of the balloons into the heart of the defenses.
- They must be in identical (or very close to identical) positions on either side so the progression of the balloons isn't 'unbalanced', leading to issues with the pathing.
If you take into account all of those factors the position of the rage spells usually pretty much chooses itself. Timing is also essential. There is no point raging the ADs until the first Lava Hound is about to explode, since the goal is to rage the Pups and subsequently the Balloons. If you've judged the timing correctly, the first Hound exploding should coincide with the arrive of your first balloons. That is always a good indicator that 3 stars is on the cards.
Finally, in relation to the 5th Hound his placement and timing is crucial. Since I preplan my rage locations and the pathing of all of the Balloons, the CC Hound is really my only opportunity to correct mistakes or unforseen circumstances that might threaten to throw the raid off course. So during the raid I'm paying close attention to the progress of both sides in order to see where/when he is required. Typically it's on the side of the army that has had to kill the AQ - as she usually deals more damage to the first Hounds, but if I've made a mistake elsewhere it can be that I use the CC Hound to cover that. In terms of timing, earlier is certainly better than later. It's rare that his arrival will come too soon in the base - particularly since most people seem to prefer overlapping ADs - and ideally you want him to explode and his Pups to be released right at the end of the raid in order to expedite the clean up. Usually however I'll try to wait until the second set of ADs start firing, or are about to start firing, before releasing him. The start of a Penta raid is so hectic that sometimes I simply just drop him immediately after the first two rages, trusting that he'll get there at about the same time as the main group of loons are about to need cover.
Anyway I hope that helps demystify some of the nuances of the attack. Good luck annihilating your foes with it!
