I've been sitting on capped 6mil elixir for so long at TH8
If I want to up all my walls fully before going to level 9, there is a big flaw here as I have literally nothing to spend elixir on. I make it back faster than I can spend it.
Please bring back 500k elixir wall upgrades...
Well that sounds like a personal problem.... I feel that walls are too cheap!

For this purpose we need to be able to upgrade walls to level 8 with elixir too.

Noooo walls are too cheap. 500k? They should be at least 1 million at townhall 1. No question.
Okay sounds like your issue is how you did your upgrades. I'm a max 7. And I have 3 mil I can spend on 2 drag barracks. And I maxed my walls and I saved my storages to waste some gold when it came about. So I can spend a full million while I wait on my townhall to be done.
My point: If you timed upgrades better it wouldn't happen. I think the walls are fine how they are and its better for the economy and its why they got changed
You're wrong. TH7 is cheap and it is balanced, TH8 is not.
Timing my upgrades has nothing to do with it. Point is, there are 225 walls to upgrade at TH8. Presuming you went into TH8 with full purple walls, upgrading all your walls to level 8 will cost you 112,500,000 Gold.
112,500,000!!! So essentially there is that much more Gold to spend at level 8 than there is elixir.
So please, once you get to level 8, please tell me how timing your upgrades will fix this..

If you have troops and defenses just upgrade already! Walls dont benefit you that much compared to the extra troop levels and defenses. If not then understand you're making this choice to wait for an upgrade thats just for show.

I just recently went through all of this... I had an excess amount of elixir while finishing up the last of my defenses (those pesky teslas take forever!) and doing the walls. Here's what I did:
I trophy pushed. I learned new strategies. I didn't farm for elixir, only gold.
Yeh I've trophy pushed and am Gold hunting currently. It still seems incredibly unbalanced though does it not? 112,500,000 extra gold to spend at TH8. Adding the elixir would split that in half.
Considering he's headed straight into defending against GoWipe quite a bit, I'd argue that walls are not just for show. And when he gets to TH9, and starts spending gold on other things, he's going to wish he'd just waited another week.

I agree with your point about troops, though. And I also agree that it's pretty lopsided at TH8. Being a little off can be handled by managing your upgrades. But TH8 isn't even close.
I doubt anyone wants to hear this, but I think they should make the elixir upgrades cost more.
My lvl7 walls really dont matter against a gowipe as much as my lvl7 teslas do, extra tesla too btw...
Lvl7 or 8 walls both take 2 WB from lvl5 or 6 WB. So yes its just for show, lvl9 walls are effective since they take 3 lvl5 WB to break but no noticable difference between lvl7 and lvl8. Race or not its about smart game play. And to deprive yourself of the emense amount of benefit from TH9 for the minuet amount of bonus that a lvl8 wall can give compared to lvl7. Well thats just silly.
