Ofcourse I would send in a little distraction. Perhaps 1-2 giants on each side? Since they will go for defenses they will go for the WT or mortar. Therefore the WT will not target my precious gobs.

You could have your AD a bit closer to the middle and as long as those upgrading splash defences are in a position where all the splash damages evenly cover the base then your base is looking fine.
