I have no problem with you spending $500 on the game, but.... I don't really see why you need to spend so much. Your base isn't that bad and just some boosting would get you in a pretty decent spot. Yo have all your troops done etc.. Definitely don't need that many gems.
If you already bought the gems, then no question use it to boost barracks whenever you play and use most of the remaining gems to level your heros. Get as much DE as you can from raiding and just gem the time or the last bit of de you need to start the next upgrade. Do them in increments of 5 each, until you run out of gems.
