yes you see it right
your xp gets reset to zero once you reach levle 2 and whatever extra xp you received from your previous war gets added. So that means you'll have to gather full 1200 xp again. If such goes it's gonna be a long way to level 10.

From the image it's 0/1200 plus whatever additional experience you received in excess of 500. My clan is at 490/500, I am assuming that after our next war which is worth 180 xp we will have 170/1200 on our xp counter.
