If everyone maxed their bases, this game would suck. I like easy raids. It does seem like 90% of the bases I come across are super rushed. I guess people don't really try to learn much about the game.
Because I can use 70k gibarch and 40k for 2 spells to do the same thing as a TH9?
SinOfDusk, your base is super weak, no ofense...those teslas...omg...its a pekka paradise...lol....especially now with this new feature of clan leveling - you'll be giving out, almost freely handed, XP in clan wars. Things have changed. Now, clans want to win CWs so to level up and get better, non rushed, solid war players...and trust me: there will be a point where high leveled clans will be getting so many requests from players trying to join in, that some clans (like mine), will go into much more detail about a player profile and base, before choosing who to take in.
Like i've said earlier, if i didn't went through a "mini rush" from th6 to th8, i would not have known this...rushing to TH9 without finishing TH8 is bad. period (with exception of a few troops, like healers or valks, or minions[can be done later at end th9 for lavaloonion or de farming]). Whatever math/schemes/threads you make/<insert your adjective here> you imagine and/or believe, it will always will be bad to rush a th8.
The only point where i do agree about rushing, is at th9, when doing heros to level 30 (over 20~25 is more then enough) and lava walls...you really get diminishing returns on both subjects...where the perks that you get at TH10 overly compensate the lack of not having lava walls or maxed heros.

Anyway, maxing a th8 (walls, hero)like the OP is doing, is the correct way...for a TH8. Enough said.

LOL, dont thank me. I ALWAYS have full elixir tanks, but im farming down here, silver 1. loot is awesome here, and best part is, No one takes it from me. even if i have full lix tanks. just snipe snipe snipe.. or fail to get my full lix storages. very entertaining...

The OP should have just defined the economic principle of opportunity cost and been done with it.
If anyone think those skull walls (which only need 2 lvl 5 wallbreakers to break like purples) are worth sitting on all that elixir at TH8 that could go towards lvl 7 army camps (+20 attackers), +1 spell, lvl 6 barch/giant/loons (loons being the biggest upgrade in the game imo), lvl 6 drills (4,800 DE/day), max Dark Barracks (hounds are currently OP in wars), lvl 6 DE storage (2nd highest hp building as TH9), additional storage to spread out available loot to steal, and finally, and probably often overlooked by most TH8s, the ability to dump elixir into Legos, then please.... continue what you're doing. And I mean that as a mid TH9 with all elixir upgrades done and is currently dumping all elixir into walls, who previously maxed out every TH except walls/King at 8 (even took a screenshot at max TH7 with mass drags in camps for memory sake).
Lets not even talk about the AQ (best thing ever in CoC), lvl 3 xbows, additional walls, +5 CC for defense and war, +1 WT, AD, AT.
Seriously, I understand the completionist concept, but my God, opportunity cost. Look it up. Most underutilized/misconstrued economic concept besides sunk cost.
