This has been implemented for a long time. Main reason is so you can be attacked and so you can't stay online forever up top. Totally normal.

This has been around for a long time. You get kicked after 6 hours
That's the point of staying online... so you don't lose all your stuff. anybody know how long before it'll let me back on?

As others have mentioned, you have to take a 5 minute or so break after 6 hours online. This is not something from the most recent update; it has been around quite awhile.
