Default Opt-Out

I totally agree that after a war, everyone should be auto defaulted to opt out.That way, when they change it to be OPT in for the war, the leaders actually know they are making a choice.

The way it is now, leaves the leaders wondering... are these people all opting in? or on vacation? or grounded from using their tablets? or totally inactive. Makes for not a fun war.

Absolutely not. that would be a huge pain to deal with every war and screw up the war schedule while you wait for everybody to get a chance to come online to confirm they are in (which you really already knew) before you get next war rolling. If guys haven't opted out they are in. And they want it that way too, they would not want to have to trouble themselves to tell me over and over something they know I know. And they want me to get that war moving too. Not wait for them to repeat themselves.

The way it is now is perfect.

For me the Opt in/Opt out button should definitly be at a default setting of I'm Out! Trying to organise a war wondering if someone has actually been in and wants to be in wars or hasn't seen it or away and hasn't changed it to "out" is really frustrating! Lots of messages in chat/mail asking "are you actually in? Or do you want to be Out??, For the casual clan this is a nightmare ..... Surely it's so much easier when the default setting is "out" when someone is "in" you know for sure they're in! As for the comment that the clan won't want the bother of opting in on every war ... It's only the press of 1 button and if they are as active as you say this won't be a problem. Supercell please change default setting to out!!!

in that thread it was suggested for there to be a third setting: grey 'not set' which I want to present here.

Re-setting at the end of every war can be tedious for 24/7 war clans, and not re-setting at all is tedious for all more casual clans. Also more casualy warring clans obviously do not war that often and, therefore, do not need a frequent re-set to the default. So I am voting for default red 'opt-out' or, even better, grey 'not set' with a re-set to default at season end.

I don't think it would be tedious for Leaders to "opt in" everyone if the default setting was at "out" - if they are a war clan and the the Leader knows they're on a back to back war it takes seconds to go down the list press everyone in and start war, he wouldn't need to ask everyone are you in? He would know for sure ..... it's when a leader doesn't know that it becomes a problem! I would say that the majority of clans are casual not structured war clans, and a default "out" setting would help thousands of us leaders who now have such a frustrating week trying to gauge who's genuinely in or out! The other way Supercell could organise it is to have a button that the leader can press that says "opt all out" or opt all in" - it then sets this as their default setting - problem solved for all!!! C'mon Supercell get some of your brains working!
