Do people actually use revenge attacks

Sometimes I cook up a special army before I go to bed .... when I wake up, I go down my revenge list and see what I can get.
75% of the time I take back more than was taken from me. I do it because I can and why not.

I dont do revenge because the attackers have low loot. Interest -5 points.

I use the revenge button. Not always but often enough.

I always revenge anyone that lightning strikes my DE. No exceptions. Wait until they are holding enough de to steal more than they took if possible. And take everything else too while you are at it. But even better - if you can get their DE without giving them a shield? Thats just sweet.

At the beginning of a season if I am just under the amount for a level I prefer, I take out some poor soul 3 or 4 TH levels below me that just TH sniped me. Often get 20+ cups for this and I only have to use my heros and a handful of troops. free cups!

Other than that I poke through now and then for anyone with decent loot.

I have also intentionally attacked a higher level base I knew I was going to lose badly on. Why? Simply for the experience of attacking a higher level base. Eventually I will defeat ones like that.

Look down defence list to find base I didn't attack first (95% of them are available to revenge)
Pick an attacker that has a high enough TH level to make the loot penalty not an issue
Visit attackers base to scope out their defences and loot and how I would attack
Go back to my base
Go to defence list again
Find that base again
Click revenge
Get message that either my target is online or my target is shielded

Repeat that as many times as your sanity allows.

Tip for you to help out your sanity!

I don't visit enemy bases anymore on the revenge list like I used to. Just click 'revenge' down the list and you can see the available revenges (not online or shielded) and loot available. Then, you can 'end battle' with no consequences just like when you are nexting in a regular battle. Come back and revenge when you want. It is a much, much faster method and this way you can avoid the click click click. . . player online headache and monotonous visiting and scrolling. I stopped doing revenges until I heard about this little trick and now it's worth it again.

I have probably used revenge about a dozen times in my entire experience with CoC. I would do it a lot more often if it wasn't the most laborious and low percentage way of finding someone to raid. I don't think I am doing this in an inefficient way but the process for me is:

Look down defence list to find base I didn't attack first (95% of them are available to revenge)

Go back to my base

Find that base again
Click revenge

I would love to see the "status" of an enemy in the defence list so that you didn't have to waste so much time for a tiny tiny chance of being able to revenge someone. This is also completely ignoring the fact that if you really want to clean out someones base you will probably need to build an army tailored to their base. If you do that it could take 3+ hours to train before you are told that they can't be attacked.

So... how many of you do this instead of just hitting the next button a hundred times.

Your process is the problem, just go down the list hitting revenge on every base. If they dont have enough loot just back out and continue.

This is a good use for it though, if you can find any that are attackable

As mentioned above, just click on all those revenge buttons to search for a good target. I do so when I have an army already prepared which can take on any TH8s, so when I find a target I will attack it a a minute or two later.

Something interesting I've noticed: there's a third message, "Village is already under attack" or something like that. Interestingly it usually goes away after a few seconds, which means that the village was actually in the search queue (ie. someone else checked the village and then nexted). Luckily I managed to attack the village and loot the resource before someone else got to it.

Some of my biggest loot grabs come from revenge attacks. I just make a habit of going through very one when my shield is broke, my army is ready, and before I search for an attack. The positive to many of these is that they are active raiders which means many of them have FAT storage's to pillage. The most recent one on there was a revenge i did just a few min ago.
