Yes, I get coins & exp, too.

Also, once it's filled, you can send it off right away by tapping on the ship. You'll then get another in 4 hours, unless you completely close the app, then it will come when you next log on. But, ask first if its okay to send cuz we are sometimes short on supplies. Don't think we are now, though.
