How it works is you sign up to make a item and then about every day you update me on how many you have if a helper is low on that item they can PM you and arrange to pick up the items in your shop.

That is very dangerous because it will revolve around one person too much and you can't be online 24x7 I think.
Also it could get a thread like this one, which gives us 2 threads to follow..

I still haven't caught up with this thread yet but I think you are still looking at it from a lower levels perspective and barn size. Our barn sizes are higher. Being able to help out with much stuff is what makes it fun for us.

Just being responsible for one or 2 items means we have to stock up way too much of 1 single item. All our farm visitors will constantly ask for those items we don't want to sell and we are just waiting around for days until a boat finally shows up asking for that one or 2 items someone is responsible for. This will impactour game play too much and actually make it kind of boring. Also we have the problem of the helpers only having an abundance of just a few things when that boat finally does show up we might not be around and could even miss a boat because of it.

A few things what makes this work is that we all have all the items we can have at our levels. We do keep in mind which helpers can help out with which items due to level restrictions. For example Red can't make anything strawberry of jams yet and so on. What makes this work is we all mass produce items like sugars.

I think I do have some experience in this thread and I think we Captains are all proud of our track record of never having to abandon a boat yet. Just take a look at the number of alumni to see it works pretty well.

I am sorry but I still don't see the benefit of it but that may be just me so I'd like to hear the opinions of the other Captains like FH, R, W, S, C, Red and I am sorry if I am forgetting a Captain but feel free to express your opinions too.
