What is the point of hitting 4,000 trophies

While there is sarcasm there, I don't see the point beyond the free gems.

I think players that torture themselves at 4,000 and beyond are mad.

Then again, they probably think me farming in Crystal for walls is mad.

was first reached by jorge or whatever his name was
and will probably continue to be until someone breaks 5000
then 4k wont be anything and people will aim for 5k before dropping

AT 4000 trophies there are mostly max or near max town hall 10s, that means well defended and not much in the way of loot because they probably have the loot less protected, that means a lower trophy count gives more loot by having to spend less to make an army. Even with the loot bonus these big armies really cost a lot. 1200 loot bonus for a win in Champs but the cost of a single witch is 350 DE, lava hound 510 so you dont even get your army cost back in DE from a GoWipe cause 3 lavahounds cost 1530 DE.

Lower trophy counts means you can find bases easier to attack with less expensive troops to make more loot and more DE sitting around where people are saving it for upgrading the king and queen.

It is probably better to try to get to 4000 earlier town hall levels unless you are buying gems to keep those expensive and slow armies going to keep getting more trophies. if you dont boost your troops somehow 3 lava hounds take over 2 hours alone to train. you wouldnt get to play much if you had to wait 2 hours for part of your army, so lower levels also means you can do things like max level barch and be able to actually play the game without buying gems 24/7.

As for getting to 4000, well it was the record set by someone and everyone wants to set the new record, but myself i just want to be able to get there while i can so i can try to stay in the bonus loot zone longer. 4000-3100 = 900 trophies you have to lose before you are back to Master 1. every other league below champs it is easier to drop leagues and be out of the loot bonus range you want to be in.

Is there a special hidden achievement that gets you gems? I dont understand why people hit 4,000 trophies to just drop right after... There must be some reason right?

Nothing, they just want to be a star.

Its just your own achievement. I dont see any other reason for reaching it unless youre aiming to be the top player globally

It shows up on your profile where they list your highest trophy count. Looks nice having a number 4000+

Low champs was torture enough... I can't even fathom going above 3600 as it is mind numbingly boring on every level.

IMO trophies are nothing until you be a fully max TH10 with lvl11 walls and level 40 heroes.
At that point you can think about trophy and top player.
