Honestly my clan, we have almost zero turn over and are always active with contests every week. Been holding strong since December 2012.

What kind of contests?

Are contests all have a code name:

1st week is Mayan Week(named after the sacrificial offerings of the Mayans): Highest Donator wins (we only donate archers) Prize, pick the clan banner

2nd week is Viking Week(named for their raiding capabilities): Highest combined loot total, after troop cost, th level factor is applied (yes we have a calculator for the formula) Prize: pick the clan banner

3rd week is Napoleon Week (named for the littlest counquerer): Trophy Hunt, winner is the MVP as voted on by all the Elders, Prize: $10 itunes card

4th week is Redcoats Week (named for their epic fail in the Americas): Epic Fail in battle, winner has the worst raid, Prize, clan esteem and accolatedes and pick the clan banner

Off Week is Ghengis Week (named for a conquerer who couldnt seem to lose): Winner has the most attacks won at end of week, Prize: pick the clan banner

We all record everything thru screen shots placed online.

Just different ideas that I came up with to keep everyone active and also generate good clan chat and sportsmanship. There is no penelty if someone doesnt want to participate.
