A few days ago I got attacked by someone I had seen on global a few hours prior. I thought it was coincidence until this morning. I woke up, noticed that I had been attacked and that I had a shield. However, there was no record of the attack. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?
Weird. Wait until the next update. It'll probably automatically get fixed.

To prevent what( getting attacked? Buy shields.

This will be fixed if it's happening because the fix is easy. It's not like some of the other things this is a return by the server and then a return of a result to the server. Very easy to knock this out so if it is happening it will be stopped..
Please take a screen shot of last time you were attacked with your remianing shield at the top and forward that to ingame support. This is the info they need to stop these things. Don't advertise details of it here though we don't need it going viral

My advice is upgrade all troops if you love war..
Reload the game. There was a game lag.
