Will this update end the creation of most new clans?

I know everyone hates all these young people making their own clans and hopping on global to say join here for free elder! There are way too many dead clans out there...

If clans can now level up and gain "perks" for leveling up, who is going to want to join or create a level 1 clan in a few months and not have those perks their previous clan had?

Don't get me wrong, I like the concept of this feature and would like to see what I just said happen. Maybe our global will become a bit more cleaned up. Anyone else see this as a possibility?

I reckon this is a possibility for sure. Although we know nothing about clan perks/levels, we do know that they are going to exist in the next update, and this could prompt new clan-makers to abandon what they're doing and just go and join a clan that already is a high level, and has perks.

What those perks are however, remains a mystery. Supercell might release a new sneak peak adding more information to what we already know (which is very little) or we will just have to wait until the update comes.

You could be on to something. We DO know that level 2 clans get a sweet border around their badge!

I think it'll slow new clan creation somewhat, but over all it's really going to depend on
a.) How clans are leveled up?
b.) How good are the perks?

If only serious clans get good perks (Which I hope is the case) then I think all the people who make clans like that will remain largely unaffected. They'll jump from clan to clan, getting kicked or quitting cause who knows why, eventually making their own and blah blah blah.

Basically we need to wait until we get more details. (Hopefully tomorrow or Monday)

Well the leak did say power up your clan with clan perks, under that category they had listed:
-Request troops more often and donate more troops at a time
-Get refunds and automatic upgrades on donated troops
-increase your clan war loot bonus and store more in your clan castle.

I think we are going to see that these are all factored based on your clan level. Just my thoughts, I am definitely aware I could be wrong.

Some perks, likely those that don't really affect gameplay like unlocking new badge styles, will be permanent; but I bet the majority of gameplay affecting perks, like 10% faster request time on troops, 10% faster collector generation, etc (just hypothetical ideas), will be highly time limited (only for a league season, all time limited perks reset after that). This will prevent the oldest clan perk clans from dominating over new clans, and give the new guys a chance to recruit.

Seems like a really good point. But then again, max per clan is 50, so not everyone is going to find a spot.

I disagree completely these are gonna be relatively hard perks to obtain and permanent and will benefit bigger clans that work together or a few rich players. Real players are gonna want the perks unless they are maxed. So a lot of these clans that are already max it might not effect but those lower active players that still need things like loot are going to want the perks. So there will be a segment of active players looking for them and hop till they find a good home. There will also be some who don't care. It really depends on the player and how much it benefits them. But the nice thing is with the opt out function you can control who gets it. Simply opt them out of war till you know they are loyal good clan members.
This help prevent the bunnies from taking advantage

Fair enough, I"m still sticking with my hypothesis. We will see when more information on clan perks comes out.
