Champions league, a TH 9's perspective

As my clans push nears an end, I just wanted to share with other TH 9's some of my experiences. The road to champs had it ups and downs, with more than one time me thinking I wouldn't make it. I made it entirely on offense, placing my TH in the corner and hoping for snipes. Any TH 9 and under hoping for a defensive win is dreaming... I'd attack and 2 star every one I saw on my push.

I tried a few different armies but ended up using lavaloonion, which worked best for me. I will admit this push would have been made so much easier if every xbow wasn't glitched up here. The key for me was finding bases to attack, a more challenging task than I ever imagined. As anyone making their first trip this high, I had the occasional 100 cup swing in the wrong direction. For the last 2 weeks I've been holding my own up here and I just want to let others thinking about pushing it is possible to thrive as a TH 9 up here by actually attacking, not hoping for the exceedingly rare snipe

Hey thanks for your post. I'm a TH9 and in my last trophy push made to 3001 cups and ran out of steam. Hoping to try again as a TH9 before going to 10. I'll try lava loonion next time. Last time I only did loonion. It's encouraging every time I see a th9 make champs by attacking.

If this update actually addresses the xbow glitch, loonion could be an option again. I liked lavaloonion since I could get fairly easy 2 stars up until around 3300 cups.

Cheap players?

Well, everyone does everything they can to get defensive wins. I don't blame them, I just jealous as a TH 9 I can't gain cups that way.

Some things to NOT be fooled by:
- xbows pointed down (everyone is glitched, sometimes you get lucky and they are pointed up but only shoot ground) just assume all bows are up and plan accordingly
- Loot is a trap, most of the time. Tough bases can lure you in with insane amounts of loot. Make sure you are positive you can get 50% before risking 30 hard fought cups. The goal here is cups, not loot. Farm these on your way down.
- tombstones. People purposely leave these to make you think the cc has been used. Assume cc is full and lure / be prepared to zap accordingly.
- clanless. People leave their clans to make people think cc is empty when it really is full of lvl 6 wiz, witches or dragons
- one xbow will be empty. A calculated risk by the defender, though the empty one is always on the strongest side of the base to bait you in.

some bases will do all of these. Just be prepared to face every base at full strength

hey man im a maxed th9 even lava walls. i am using loonion and im at 2741, using 26 loons and 40 minions and loons in cc. should i switch over to lavaloonion for the 2 stars? ive just been getting 1 stars like just going for the 50

Can you give some comments on your Lavaloon deployment. What you looked for etc.
