No. It's 0 dollars. No one's forcing you to buy it. And hardly anyone pays for everything with cash. (Some people do but it's their choice). I've made it to TH10 max th9 (Nearly besides walls) without money.

The OPs logic is flawed. If SC were greedy than why would they make the game worse? That would drive away costumes aka profit. If SC were greedy they would most likely make the game even harder and everything cost more. That would make people want to buy things to rush through the game. Although that would make the game worse.........

No business is "greedy". Over priced? Extremely over priced? yes. But hey look at all these nerds defending SC, if they wanna pay obsorbant amount of money than let them. We call them "the stupid consumer". Without a stupid consumer we wouldn't have fun games like clash.

Another update coming, another rush of "SC is greedy posts". If you think a company like SC is greedy, I absolutely cannot wait for you to grow up and experience the business practices of big name brands out there that you all most likely use on a daily basis.

To the people saying we get free stuff, that does not mean SC isn't greedy in how OP defines greed. Companies/people can give free samples, but still be bad/greedy.

If SC were trying to be so greedy that they made the game worse, they wouldn't still be running a very successful business would they??

Companies can be very successful but intentionally make things worse. USA internet providers like Comcast and Time Warner Cable are a great example. Industries can/have also colluded to make things worse for the general public.

Going back to individual levels, SC doesn't maximize profits by making the game great for players. They certainly could improve customer support and not make the game worse by banning minorly offensive players. Driving players away is also not necessarily a terrible thing since many companies get a large portion of their revenue from a small group. Losing casual players who don't buy gems isn't a big deal so a game can get worse (in a sense) if it tailors to the small group

In general, most businesses like SC needs to be greedy though especially in extremely competitive industries like app games

I voted no. There's nowhere saying that you HAVE to buy gems, or pay for the game, or even pay for anything. It's your own choice.

You have a distance of 5 miles to travel. You can walk, which is free, no cost at all oooor you can go by bus, cab, car whatever to speed up things, but that's gonna cost ya

Excellent analogy. One is free but takes a lot of time, the other is not but is faster and easier. Great way to compare Clash of Clan's freemium model.

They are a company- they have employees. They need people to buy gems to sustain production of the game, the updates don't just happen by magic. They happen through the hard work of Super Cell employees.

So have some respect please.

Yeesh this thread again. Supercell is as greedy as their business model allows because they are a for profit business. If their pricing model or services reach the point where they lose enough customers that it affects their bottom line, they have become too greedy. So right now, nope not too greedy for the majority of their customers who are still buying gems.

Are they are too greedy for YOU? Maybe, but that's a personal decision. if so, give your feedback, put your collectors in a corner, uninstall and don't look back.
