Exclamation Radioactive Spell (Subject to name change)

Maybe a new spell that acts as chemical eats away at buildings/walls/cc troops. I searched the spell and could not find anything like it so i decided to share.

If sc were to add a new spell factory level6 to implement a chemical spell. This spell would be like a lightning spell as it does damage to all buildings/walls/clan castle troops inside its radius. One would be able to drop it in front of a clan castle as the troops are being lured out into the direction of the spell and as they walk on the spell their health begins to decrease.

The duration would be like the jump spell (20 seconds at level 1) but it would increase by 5 or 10 seconds every upgrade. And the damage would be maybe 50 dps with an increase of 5 or 10 each upgrade.

As the spell is dropped it makes an chemical reaction type of sound such as a swoosh or something and the color would be red like lava. Then as its on the ground you can see particles or solar flares emitting from the ground for cool aesthetics.

Id love to hear what anyone has to say about my idea. and if anyone would be able to illustrate the spell I'd appreciate it immensely.

Sounds like a longer duration lightning spell (does damage to everything in an area). Not saying a longer duration/lower DPS spell couldn't work but I'm not sure it is needed.

I could see it being interesting, in the sense of more total damage spread over a much longer period of time. (although I can see the DE zapping threads being replaced by DE melting or whatever). It would need to take a lot longer than the lightning spell to brew, at least 45 minutes if not an hour.

For example, a max lightning spell does 450 damage to its primary target, plus some reduced amount of peripheral damage. The damage is inflicted over a period of... 2-3 seconds?

So what about a spell, which does more total damage (maybe 600?), but over a much longer duration, like 20-40 seconds. The OP suggested starting at 20 seconds and adding 5-10 seconds each level. I wouldn't want the DPS to drop with each level, so I'm thinking the duration would need to be increase only a little with each level. How's this for a suggestion? (Calling it the Acid spell, just to have a short name for the table)

Spell Duration DPS Total Dmg Cost Cost/Dmg
    Lightning 1 2.4 125 300 15000 50
    Lightning 2 2.4 138 330 16500 50
    Lightning 3 2.4 150 360 18000 50
    Lightning 4 2.4 163 390 20000 51
    Lightning 5 2.4 175 420 22000 52
    Lightning 6 2.4 188 450 24000 53
    Acid 1 32 15 480 27000 56
    Acid 2 36 15 540 32000 61
    Acid 3 40 15 600 38000 67

The benefit over a regular lightning spell is that it might only take 2 such spells to take out an Air Defense, but it would take so long that the attacker would lose a significant amount of time if they wait for the AD's to go down. (Waiting 40 seconds for a pair of AD's to go down means you've used 1/4th of your attack time.)

Also, the radius could be made smaller (or larger?) than the regular lightning spell. I think a smaller radius makes more sense if you consider the effect on buildings, but larger would make more sense if using the spell to deal with CC troops. Maybe it could do double damage to CC troops?

I guess I don't have a problem with the spell in general. My issue is that there are only so many spells, and so far, each spell is very unique compared to the others. To have two very similar spells seems like a waste of precious space in the spell factory.

Yes I agree it is similar to the Lightning spell but maybe with some tweaks it could become a different type of attacking spell to use.

I just want to say thank you to Supercell for implementing my idea
