    I will help you out here: the guy I was replying to made it sound like ruled out ideas will never be implemented, and so I was telling him that it doesn't matter if they're ruled out because we might still get them some day. And yes, opt in/out WAS ruled out. You seriously need to learn to read.

    I think healers were considered by many to be the least useful troop in the entire game. I think this change is just to see if it will make healers something people use again. Personally I don't think it will be enough to make healers popular again, but we shall see. I don't intend to use healers still so it has little effect on me (especially since I don't waste money arming traps in my base anyway), but we shall see if it results in more attacks with healers after the update.

    What about a healers attack with hogs? Assuming they can reach two of the AD quickly it could be useful. Also max healers in cc after a lava loon attack to deploy on heroes for cleanup. Just an idea.

    Yes. It helps. But hogs move too quick. And healers doesn't heal when she moves.

    I've seen a raid with all healers, a handful of WB, plus a lv40 AQ that wrecked a well developed th9 base of a clanmat: about 70+ damage plus town hall with the attacker quitting when it looked like the AQ was going to start taking more damage than the healers could handle.

    I used to use one healer in a giant/barch farming army to help save on spells. TH9 gets four mines compared to TH8 with 2, there's not really any way to avoid 4 seeking mines without something to trigger them. So for attacking at that level healers were useless. This update means that there are tactical opportunities for using single healers again.

    Centralised air def means that you can get the heavy hitters with heal support into the centre before the healer drops (better than heal spell). Outside air def you can hold off the healer until the AD goes down, and maybe use a heal spell first before deploying the healer to help really punch through the base.

    Is it OP? I don't think so. Anyone who's at TH9 who is upset they now have to plan to take them down are likely to be go down weeping in the forums as people tell them to toughen up and get an inferno. Even then, at high levels I suspect it's feasible that top players who never even bothered with lv7 giants might now start dabbling in healer-giant again.

    I haven't used a healer since the AI update...
