Laboratory help!

I am a town hall 8 player and upgrading troops in lab for a while. Currently archer is on progress to lvl 5. I have completed barbarian and dragon to the maximum at this level. Archer's upgrade will be completed shortly. Now i am ready for the next upgrade. I filled all my elixir storage completely. But i have a confusion on next upgrade. Should i upgrade giants to lvl 5 which takes 5 days or P.E.K.K.A to lvl 3 which take 12 days? I don't worry about resources and I am ready to spend all. But which will be a better move? Please help

Which one would you use more?
Imo, both are pretty pointless troops. Giants used to be a great farming comp, along with healers, but now there's more efficient ways like Barch, BAM, etc.
Pekkas I guess would be good for CW's though.

Both units aren't even remotely pointless. Such a silly comment.
Pekka lvl3 is an absolutely BEAST at th8, no other troop compares to it.
So pekka gets my vote, but it's a close call. I use giants daily

Thanks for the reply But i use both of them . Pekka in clan wars(GOWIPE) and rarely to grab DE . giants for donating and rarely for farming. I mainly use barch for farming. I have a massive resources now. Only pekka can use it fully and I don't need elixir as i completed most of the elixir based buildings except troops upgrade.

If you gowipe, go for the pekka.

Giants at lvl6 become much more useful.

Thank you. I too agree that Pekka is extremely useful if used properly. My heart is with Pekka as i know how to use it effectively. but i had a thought that going for tier 1 troop upgrade than lower tier troops may be a wrong decision. So i looked for a suggestion from you guys.

I am Th8 but upgrading to Th9 now. My giant is still level 4. I haven't used it since BAM is working just fine for me. If you use GOWIPE then upgrade your pekka for sure. Mine are just level 2 though.

If you have full storages go with pekkas. might as well do it while you have the elixir on hand
