Granted, there are times I make a mistake and she's taken out early, but when I funnel her correctly behind giants, maxed TH8 and new-mid TH9 are easily wiped

For instance, yesterday someone sent in a bunch of giants. My clan castle wizards took them all out. After that, the AQ didn't have that much protection and all eyes were on her.

Today, the opposite happened and a bunch of giants got into my core and attacked me from the inside out while a few of my weapons were being upgraded. The AQ did some damage too, but frankly she was not even needed.
AQ is an absolute gamechanger, moreso once she hits lvl 5+ and gets her ability. Take the usefulness of the BK, and multiply it by like 3. She has less HP, but more dmg and longer range than any of your troops (you don't need giants to protect her, barch troops provide just as good protection due to her range, if not better b/c they are mowing down everything in front of them). And when you use her ability, she removes the crosshairs from any defense that was targeting her at the time. Don't try to play off like the AQ isn't one of the greatest offensive bumps you can get in this game, especially if you don't even have her yet lol.

Hopefully they can improve my base layout defense abit once they are all up in one week as lvl 3.
That's b/c xbows are used more to deter attackers than provide sustainable defense against farmers. Read my post above this quote, max your splash defenses. That will keep you from getting farmed.

oh okay Mr. Know it all. I'll say it yet again for the hard of hearing, or in this case reading....it's all how you use her, like any troop. Timing is everything. Some of you seem to think the AQ is some miracle worker. While she helps a lot, it's not a garentee. The failed attacks on my base prove that.

I'm talking to the OP as if he will know what he's doing with her, after trying her out in 20+ farming raids. Obviously if the person uses her like a moron, they're gonna get terrible results. But then you shouldn't be worried about those people anyway. Except you seem to be standing your ground saying that she's not great b/c people deploy her stupidly. Are you insinuating that you're one of the morons who does not know how to deploy any troops correctly, and is suggesting that we alter our advice to fit better with those players who refuse to improve upon their strategies? B/c if that's the case, then this advice does not apply to you--but it still applies to the OP, and any other person who intends to use all troops, heroes included, in an optimal manner.

"Dragons aren't that great. I have had people who sent 10 dragons on my TH7 base and didn't 3 star it. They sent them in one at a time, deploying the next one after the previous one gets killed by an AD, but the statement still stands that dragons aren't that strong against TH7s b/c I managed to find someone who couldn't even count to 3 who wasn't able to 3-star my TH7. It's all about how you use them."

Yes, no attack is foolproof. If you want to pretend that the AQ isn't the biggest offensive boost for a TH9, go ahead. A lot of storages will thank you for that.

Btw, cc wizards killed the queen? That sounds like a very poor attack. You got lucky.
