i have level 7 walls and a few 8 and 9's
everything else is maxed
iam sick of being destroyed in clan wars and being matched up with TH10's.
is this the right way to go ? or am i rushing things.

If your defenses and troops are maxed minus walls then sure.
It's your choice. Although it isn't recommended to move on without maxing if you feel bored then you should move on. It's a game and games were meant to be enjoyed.
If you are asking then you are not ready. If you have lvl7 walls then sure you are not ready. If you didn't max out everything then I'm very sure you are not ready. Stay at th9 for 2 or 3 month and upgrade your walls and heroes and will see the difference when you upgrade. Many are maxing. I was one of them and now got th10. Really I'm very happy that I maxed out first. Your choice but choose wisely

Just off walls alone one can't really give you a good answer to that question........it depends a lot on your activity, troop levels, and defense levels -- more than it does your walls -- so I'm just going to say maybe.
My standard for going to th10 is all legos, level 15-20 hero's minimum, and max defense. If you don't have that, then in my opinion, you rushed.
If you have level 7 walls, I'm guessing the rest of your offence and defence isn't very well upgraded either (and even if it is, level 7 walls are too low for th9, let alone a th10. There will always be a bigger fish in the pond so to speak. IMO I would say don't upgrade because it probably will just exaggerate your problem. If you are bored, take a break and come back refreshed and ready to enjoy the game again.
updated thread, all my other buildings, research and troops are fully maxed.
