this needs to be changed in next update please, there is no reason for heroes to be alive and defending war base while they are in upgrading! I would have 2 stared this TH9 in war if aint for his heroes killing off most of my remaining hogs. And I checked his live base, both his heroes are in upgrading! how can supercell let heroes run freely in war base even when they are still in upgrading? I just dont see the logic...

I've seen many arguments against it, but 'balance' is really the worst possible one.
All it does it imbalance Clan Wars, I have lv 30 heroes. As a result I often get matched against max TH10s with strong heroes too.
Been forced to face that with just 1 hero is so far from balanced it isn't funny.
What is really is, is hard for SuperCell to program - and they aren't prioritising it as it won't help them make money.
SuperCell clearly rate making money over fairness.

I thought the war base is separate from your regular base, so your defenses still work on your war base even though you are upgrading them or just started building them. And that's also why you don't lose loot from your base in clan wars. I don't think there needs to be an update to change this....
