What does money consist of?:
- physical money (coins, notes)?
- physical IOUs (normal IOUs, physical bonds, physical cheques)?
- physical commodities (gold, platinum, oil, wheat)?
- digital money (bank account style - much more of this exists than actual physical money)?
- digital IOUs (online bonds etc...)
- digital commodities - used a lot in Islamic financing (pork futures, stuff that exists online only)?
Where does money stop?
That is the problem - estimates are all very well but they range from including solely the first category to more than I have listed!
Furthermore, how is one to convert Gold to real money? One could convert via gems, but 11 thousand for all that stuff? In real life an equivalent modern military base would cost far more! Of course, this is a digital game, so saying that a max base should instead be a few hundred million would be unfair too.
As a result, it is clear that the question can't really be answered - given that money itself can't even be defined it's not really possible to get any clear indication.
OP didn't state what kind of currency. If we compare money in terms of an hyper inflated currency like Zimbabwe dollars, real world has more. Those people have $100 trillion dollar bank notes

An economist tracked money supply in 167 countries back in 2010 and came up with an estimated $55 trillion. It's obviously a bit higher now. Money supply would be comparable to gold in storages and mines. The Forbes number is wealth, which would be comparable to the value of a base.
too vague to make comparison...do you mean total gold in term of each base holding or total in everything including golds in collectors and gold worth of each and every buildings
