    Lightning Rod (structure) absorbs lightning damage

    This would obviously absorb lightning spells.

    Upgrades could either be to its health or total absorption, or both. I think this would add an interesting variable to the game. Perhaps it could be hidden like the tesla, popping out to waste a preemptive strike on dark elixir, air defense etc.

    It could also be a "dead zone" radius in which elemental strikes of any kind is totally dead or redirected to the tower in its area... Lightning, effects of rage, heals, dragon fire, wizards...

    Thoughts? Could take some of the gimmick out.

    Interesting how? This would ruin the lightning spell. The dead zone would ruin all spells.

    Well I just noticed it under existing, but under "traps." I'm saying a structure.

    Anyway still think its good as a structure. It could redirect the entire damage, but only for strikes within its radius. Say, 5 tiles. So I could place it strategically near air defense and that spell would solely damage the rod, and buildings outside the radius would be hit as normal. Health would increase with upgrades to allow additional strikes to be absorbed. It wouldn't apply to the entire map, and it would obviously be a sacrificial structure thus perhaps only absorbing 1-2.

    It wouldn't negate damage, but rather redirect damage to this structure in order to protect others in its area, until dead.

    MAYBE you could just get 2 lighting rods which you can attach to 2 different buildings of your choice but only those 2, you unlock one at TH7 and TH8? Attackers CAN see the lighting rod and each lightning rod absorbs a lightning spell!
    That way people can add at least 1 rod to their De tanks and less of these people complaining about Lightning attacks on their DE will come on the forums lolol

    Lol. Perhaps. The rod could absorb x damage expanding with levels possibly too. More trophy conscious people could protect air defense (be it rod structure or some rod bonus addition). Either way itd force people to be less gimmicky with the spells.

    Overall I think it's important that it redirect damage to itself and not negate damage. So the structure may be destroyed after x strikes, but spares nearby buildings in the process...

    Or just target other areas that aren't protected by the rod.

    like in 10 raids on my village 9 (no jk) its just by lightning spells updates comes often but this ♥♥♥♥ "farming DE" continues.

    I like the popping up aspect, but the rod should take damage from the spell. At level 1, it could absorb 150 damage. That way lightning spells would just be weaker.
