What is so wrong about Lightning the De?

Hello. I have seen on the forums and in the game, that people look down on players who drop lightning spells on their dark elixir without attacking, but isn't this just like normal farming? Before you leave angry comments, hear me out a bit.
If you are dropping hundreds of trophies to farm, and wiping out players 30 levels below you, you are taking advantage of the trophy matchmaking system. It is unfair to the lower level players, but why do most people, including me, farm? Because it is beneficial. It makes us progress in the game. I think that the TH6s don't enjoy it too much when they see all their resources get stolen from level 5 troops.
Now, if you are a townhall 9 or 10, and a townhall 7 lightnings your dark elixir, they are taking advantage of the loot bonus/penalties. It is unfair to the people being lightninged, but it is beneficial to the person who use the lightnings against the dark elixir storage. It sucks that they could use a cheap trick to get dark elixir, but that is the easiest way they progress in the game.
I am not bashing these styles of playing the game, and if any of you misunderstand, I think that there is nothing wrong with farming. I just think there might be something wrong with me complaining about how my centered DE has been lightninged when I just finished raiding a Townhall 6 who had spent a lot of time protecting his gold and elixir.
I don't know. Maybe most people have a different perspective? If you disagree, please fill me in in the comments, so I could learn more about this game.
(Ive done all these things so don't make me think I'm perfect xD)

If i do lightening someones DE its a win win for me.
1. Theyll never take as much as i took.
2. I always waste my gold. (Go hardcore farming the day before an upgrade finishes)
3. They 3star me for trophies i dont care about. That AND i get a nice 16hr shield.

TL;DR
Using Lightning to steal someone's de is an "easy way out" method of taking de from those who obtain it by raiding with an army. Lightning takes no skill, therefore nobody likes it when it happens.
By the way, if you haven't been lightninged yet, you will later on, and then you will hate it as well.

Whats wrong is that you felt the need to make a thread when you could have posted in an existing one which probably has your answer hidden under all the flaming.

There is really nothing wrong with it. Part of the game is taking resources by any means necessary if that's your only mean to take de from a base go right ahead especially if you don't have the troops to raid it.

I think its frowned upon not only because it takes minimal skill but the training time and cost of three lightning spells.

It it takes well in excess of an hour to cook spells and can cost up to 60k elixir. Its not a very effective way of farming at all.

I think etiquette and respect comes into play with some - not many but some. Out of respect if im going to get your DE it will be a full on assult. This way also shows skill that you can post to your clan mates.

What would your clan mates think if you posted a DE zap?

the only thing wrong with it, is that some people would rather lose everything to a full army and spells, rather than a dribble of DE lost to a zapper....


These people usually burble on about honour and skill etc ....... they seem to beleive that it is more honourable and skillfull to raid lower Town Halls or inactives for their loot .....


Zapping is a very inefficient way of getting DE -- it takes a lot of time in the spell factory, and considerable elixir - if you are happy with that then zap on .....




(an added bonus of zapping, is that it annoys people as well --- just do a search for cry baby threads also known as Zapping threads)


Clash is a looting and raiding game - raid however you want ....

this has been debated several times and in several different threads... infact i think there is already one running..

if you think its ok to lightning the DE go ahead and do it.. the game allows u to... if someone gets mad so be it.. there is no need to convince someone that this is right/wrong... if someone is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ he will revenge u as the game allows him to... if not he will ignore u... there are some ppl who chose not to do this like me and thats our way of playing the game... its like someone moved to the next TH without maxing his base... its a choice...

as long as the game allows it, its not wrong... there are far bigger problems in the game (like fluffy bunnies) to deal with than this one...
