Am I ready for TH9?

I would definately max your walls. At TH9 you get alot of new D like xbows, etc. I went TH 9 a couple months ago n im using every coin to upgrade my D. I dont have time for walls yet. Even the 25 new walls i got are pink. Loot is great for me n DE is much better but you have to upgrade ur D if you wanna keep it. That doesnt leave resources or time for walls. Lab upgrades are not a big deal as everybody seems to have to much elix.

I promise you will be happy you did all your walls. Dont worry bout wasting elix.

At the moment, Im not even wasting elixir.

Just do full dragon raids, great way to waste all the unnecessary elixir.

and u gain so much gold and DE per raid, Hogs going to level 3 atm

I would finish every wall and the research for the lab if u want to jump right in and take loot from some mid to max hall nines! I'm doing everything possible! That way I have less to to complete in hall nine! Can focus on the new toys and catching those up to the rest of my defense bldgs!

You can upgrade whenever you want.
The issue being, there is SO much to upgrade when you get to th9, that every single resource is spent as quickly as it comes in. You don't have time to dump resources into things that should've been done beforehand.

That being said, I know plenty of people that went to th9 with all lvl7 walls and then went to th10 with all skulls.
It's whatever you feel like doing.

I personally maxed everything except a few troop research before I went up (healers).
Having all skulls going into th9 was great. I could focus on new walls and buildings

I'am in the situation where I have maxed everything except my lab as a TH8, I have goblins lvl 4 pekkas lvl 1 hogs lvl1 and healer lvl 2 left. But now I have full storages and dunno what to do. If i upgrade it will be a lot of time when i can start my pekka or hog upgrades, but those are very long and atm I'am wasting gold de elixir and also bulders are idle. Imo TH9 is so long i will definitely manage to catch up with those TH8 lab upgrades but it will only be after archers barbarians giants loons and minions. dunno what to do. Should i upgrade?

I was just in a similiar position. I decided to finish skulls. In that time i maxed everything but valk. Started my th upgrade last night with my last skull. Beautiful having a max TH8. I did have max elixir for the last month. But i made it fun. Everytime i got max lix i trained a gowipe, mass drag or pekka/wiz. That made raiding fun. Pekka 3 is awesome.

Grind away the pay off is great.

I was in the same position as you about 3 weeks ago seeing all that wasted elixir.

I upgraded to TH9 as soon as all my defenses were done. Doing anything else is a mistake.

Farming at TH9 with an AQ (now lvl 7) is much easier than farming at TH8. I only have my barbs upgraded so far and they are also making a huge difference.

The other thing all the TH9s telling you to stay at TH8 don't mention is that at TH9 you don't ever get attacked. I have been here for 3 weeks now often having 3mill + in each storage and have been attacked twice in this whole time.

At TH8 with my full elixir bin all the time I was taking a heavy attack every 2-3 days. I am now one of the TH9s farming the poor TH8s stuck with full elixir and I am dumping it all into my walls.

If I had stayed at TH8 I would probo have nearly maxed my skulls now and flushed away over 100 million elixir. As it is I now have about 50 more skulls done, 30 legos and 1 lava (to see what it looked like) and no wasted elixir.

TLDR move to TH9 as soon as defenses are maxed. Doing anything else is seriously hurting your progress through the game. Staying at TH8 is just doing the people who are smart enough to move up's walls for them.
