    I like it...
I'd like to suggest/agree that just a portion of the swag creamed off of the top to mitigate the costs would be ideal.
ALSO, if at best, it's just 50% of the troop value in the case of a win, ur not going to get lower members donating crappy troops because they think they will get EXTRA elixir
I'm a donor in my clan, and I do it just cause... but I suspect it's mostly unappreciated by the recipients, because they are relatively oblivious. This might shed a little light on the efforts of the donors in the clans
    Cheers..

I think it would be hard to arrange giving back loot for war donations. You don't get it normally, so why is war different? But I do think that donations to war cc's should at least count towards experience and Friend In Need achievement. You get that normally, so why should war be different? Giving back the loot for donating will not work.

Since the first makes absolutely no sense (free donations), i ll respond assuming you mean the second. It may be an incentive for people to donate expensive troops, but I think that it is already the case. You are arguing that donators also contribute to the clan's win (not only successful attackers), so they should be rewarded. It makes some sense but I don't think that it's something missing from the game right now.
Yeah, intended more of option 2, but it would still be the same with the losers still getting a minimal percentage of war back!

Yes but at least when you donate to a clan mate (non-war) it counts towards your Troops Donated Tally, maybe they should have an achievement implemented to gift people Gems, once the reach a certain amount of War Troop Donations?

I like the idea of refunding the troop cost but not the achievement because war donations can be easily exploited.(maybe have 75% loot back so you are still sacrificing a little to improve your clans chances)

I think only Clan Leader's/Co-Leader's understand what I'm saying here,

Basically I'm not trying to say that whoever donate's during war should get any sort of Loot Advantage or anything, what I'm trying to make a point about is why should people that do Donate for Clan Wars be "disadvantaged"? I'm happy to give up resources during Clan War for the better of my clan, however I think it would be great if we could get back some of this Elixer, as it is a fact that it is very expensive to train and donate troops for the whole clan!

E.g. In my clan, if I was to Donate 20 Dragons or more it would cost me approximately 600,000+ Elixer to do this, which could be used to help me upgrade items for base, clearly showing a disadvantage to people who donate a lot during war!

As for lower levels saying this would be an advantage to us, it really isn't as it would just be simply to get back "some" of the Elixer we have had to spend for the better of the clan. I know for a fact in my clan, I only want the higher Level Players Donating, so decent Level troops are provided in the War Clan Castles for all of the rest of the Clan.

Hopefully this clears up some of the confusion for this idea, Please ask if you want me to clear anything else up about this idea

P.S - My Original Idea was that say if someone donates a Dragon worth 30,000 Elixer During Preperation Day, 30,000 Elixer would be added to the Possible War Loot that you see in Battle Day, therefore if you lose the Clan War you will not receive much anyway. However, it seems a lot of people are against the idea of all of the Troops Costs being refunded if the War is Won, so maybe 75% - 50% should be Refunded?

I still disagree. The cost of donating troops is the price you pay to win. Just like the military can spend more to add an M203 to every M4 carried by every soldier . . . or maybe save some $$$ and only add them to a few hoping that's all they will need. Do we replace the Apache with new Comanche's or simply upgrade the existing fleet with to Longbows?

You don't HAVE to put the best troops possible in your war castles. But the clans that are dedicated to winning do. It is one of the things that separates the winners (not the ch3@ting ones) from the losers. They try harder and spend more. I think it would be wrong to artificially benefit clans with less dedication so they can be artificially as strong as clans who actually try to be that strong.

Helllo please read this and this as well as the search function before posting.

On topic: no because donating in war clan castles is part of teamwork, encouraging you to win wars, and get that bonus

How is it teamwork when only a few have anything to lose?
