    War farming.

If you're the farmingclan, you inevitably lose in a way you give them the win with many stars [not filling CC and having all traps outside etc] while you reap their rewards of gold/elxir/dark elixir storages and the TH for win bonus.

The top 2 player puts their TH and 9 storages outside. [namely usually a TH10 with good walls n defs etc] You use your two attacks to snipe wat 100k of each plus 500 de. and you get the win bonus of 600k for example [becomes 100k if you lose but they want 100k 100k 500 de and 100k 100k 50 bonus.] so out of two attacks you probably get like

300k gold 300k elixir 1100 de? over two days.

But if you ask my honest opinion. I think it's a bit pointless lol. I make more off normal farming easily. CW is just to do wars. That's it. By doing war farming, you limit the enjoyment you get out of the game when you can be warring competitively with the enemy and have fun both together. Plus CW was best thing released in Clash of Clans... and was a feature asked for so why resort to war farming tactics... is my question.

I get 560k gold and 560k elixer over two days. I dont have to donate any troops to war castles. The two attacks only take a total of 2 minutes and only a few archers or one of my heroes.

What is pointless is training a war army that takes 3 hours twice in one day, training special troops for donations both days, and not upgrading my heroes because I need them during war. Then you have to wait and see if the other people in your clan do well enough to win. Those countless hours wasted could have been millions of looting. With war faming, I get my 1 million for free and I do just as much raiding as if I weren't at war. Plus I never have to hit next for my war attacks.

I played this game for over a year without Clan Wars and loved it already. Since clan wars came out I love it a little less. So in my opinion it is NOT the best thing released. In fact I hate Clan Wars with a passion. At some point I will have my base maxed and I will do wars just to get the achievement before I quit the game.

Wow, it seems you are completely missing the point of wars.

Training a 3 hr army twice in one day is what is good about wars. When I farm I train Barch, Barch , and yes even more Barch. I Barch all day and all night (well not literally). When I farm I am looking for weak and vulnerable opponent that I can smash as efficiently as possible. This is fun, but can become somewhat monotonous at times.

I have a nearly maxed out lab and until clan wars was released had never even trained more than half the troops available to me.

Thanks to war I get to attack a maxed out TH10 with fun armies like GoWiPe or Lavaloonion twice every other day in a competitive team environment. This is about as different from my normal game play as could be and it has helped to keep the game fresh and interesting for me.

Without clan wars, and I mean competitive wars where both sides go all out, I would not be still playing this game. Farming is fun but after doing it for so long it is like a breath of fresh air to have something different to do as well.

My max Hounds finish in 1 day. I have never trained one.
I finished MAx valks a month or so back. I trained my first few right after they got done and havent done one since.
I never made a golem until they were max. I made them for wars for about a month and then I was over that.
I don't make witches, PEKKAs, Dragons, Healers, Hogs, or Goblins. All of them are max.

Those armies are not fun for me because when I have time to play, I WANT TO PLAY.

The way I see it is that War is distracting people from the initial goal of every game like this: Upgrading and maxing out your base.

I understand that people find it fun and I am fine with that. Go ahead and War to your hearts content. Just dont get flabbergasted when you find someone that hates it.

I enjoy BArching and Arching and GiBArching. For me it is not monotonous. I have a goal and I want to reach it. If I saw a kid who wanted to make the NBA as a shooter I would recommend that he take several thousand shots each and every day. Taking 200 and playing a game of Bump and a game of 21 will not get you there. To be an outlier you have to log serious hours doing the same thing, the right way, over and over.

I'm not opposed to wars as much as you are. I enjoy the competitive challenge (almost) every weekend and so does my clan.

But I could not agree more with the way you see big expensive armies and (in particular) the main goal of this game.

When I raid I want to do it as often as possible in the leisure time dedicated to "clashing". So of course I will use the cheapest and fastest training army possible.

I'm getting really irritated by more and more people stepping up claiming that there is "a way this game is intended to be played" and that this involves expensive armies and elaborate attacks. How am I going to get anywhere if I have an hour per day to spend? I can do at least 6 barch attacks in that time if I plan training and gaming time accordingly. This leads to at least a million of gold and elixir. And the TH snipers will make sure most of it is still there when I continue the next day.

You approach Clash like a job, that's fine. Others approach it like a game, where the initial goal is not to max out your base, but to have fun. Some people think farming is fun, some people think wars are fun. I'm guessing you wouldn't enjoy the game half as much if you were farming only inactive bases with their storages and mines/collectors in a corner. A 5-year-old could do that, there's little fun and no achievement whatsoever. That, however, is exactly what having a war against a war farming clan is like.

Also, side note, don't become a youth basketball coach.

Do you guys realize you can just train a 2-3 hour army/spell combo, go to a strong trophy league and next until you find a very strong base and attack it. It essentianly mimics war ...

if anything, wars are a huge waste. 48 hours for a small per day profit, waiting for specific donations, filling castles that take resources. Holding back on farming for 2-3 hours, expecting your clan members to win. If they do bad, or the opposing clan does excelent, you miss out on the win bonus. if you want the thrill of destroying a strong base 100, do it normally, its faster and payout depends only on your performance.

Farming war clans are not even that common ... Ive been in about 30 wars, still havent seen one ... The OP took it out of proportions and did not even provide the 3 examples.

Free loot isnt so bad, or do you mean to tell me when a free collector base comes up, you next it, because thats now how the game is meant to be played ???

I don't approach it like a job. I do approach it like a game where I have fun. Playing something should always be to win. The thing about this game is that winning can mean a lot of different things. When I started this game there was no war. So there were two objectives that you could chase; high trophies or high farming. I saw champs league as broken and for paying players so I set out to max my base. By the time War came out I was entrenched in the goals I had set out on. I tried for a while but it always slowed me down on my original goals, so I quit war.

Yes, playing only against deconstructed bases would be boring, but it is awesome when I find one. No, that is not what going against a farming clan is like. When we make deals the other clan sometimes asks that we only have one town hall outside and the rest normal bases with cc troops. We oblige. They still have to attack like they always do and their weaker players can snipe that top town hall if they want.

As for your side note: I am a youth basketball coach. I coach high school basketball. What exactly did I say that should prevent me from coaching?

Stephen Curry, arguably the best shooter in the world, makes 500 shots a day (so takes ~750 or so) in the offseason. Several thousand shots per day is not only unproductive, it's unhealthy, but it doesn't matter much since I'm sure high schoolers are smart enough not to listen to you. As for wars, they don't still have to attack like they always do, and you and they both know it.

With absolutely nothing on the line, even if they're forcing themselves to go through the motions, it's still a farce. It's like you farming and knowing you'd get all the loot no matter what you did in your attack. At best, you're letting them practice war attacks, but nobody wars to practice war attacks. I've had wars against clans we blew out (they were still trying, somewhat) and they were nowhere near as fun as wars that are close, even marginally so. A key part of wars is that there's something on the line, you obviously don't feel that way so there's no way you know what warring against a punchless clan is like.
