Would you gem if you had the income to? Which do you value more: time or money?

I always see people ridiculing/attacking those who choose to gem their resources/upgrades etc.

I know that i value my time more than my money, but what about you guys? If you had the money to do it would you spend money to gem your base so that you can spend more time with friends/family? Or would you rather cut off the amount of time with friends and family and not spend the money.

But if you used a bit of money on clash you'd be able to spend more time with friends. I'm not saying it has to be one or the other, but would you cut down your CoC time and spend a bit more money?

certain gemming makes a lot of sense to me.

    hero upgrades
    barrak boosts ..

but the rest of it .. IDK , it seems like you're paying money so you don't have a game to play anymore. once you have everything the game is over!

Fair point, but if you've ever tried trophy pushing its actually (in my opinion) a lot more fun than barching/mass arching for loot or 50%.

    Not mutually exclusive.
The time is spent playing the game. The money is spent so you don't have to play the game, in which case you don't need to spend the money. Of course they gem so they can skip to the part the enjoy, like war or pushing. But there are some people who gem and then just get bored and quit because they don't have anything to do. As pushing is even more tedious than farming and stuff.

I'd spend money on things I enjoy, and I enjoy CoC

    money can be earned/stolen
time is irreversible (until someone invents the time machine)
maxed out TH9, minus the heroes
    kinda quit, Lurker mode: on

Not at all, im with my friends for hours every day (it helps that we live in the same block on campus at uni so my situation will be different to other people's)

You assume that those that gem spend less time playing the game....that may not be accurate...

You also assume that people that dont gem sit around on the game waiting for upgrades to complete - again, likely to be incorrect.

The only real correlation between time and money here is if people gem resources...and then upgrade something and promptly log off - otherwise they are not saving time.

I value both my time and my money...I simply choose to spend my money on things that are both tangible (as opposed to a virtual base) and things that I can not get unless I spend money. If there is a way to acquire something without spending money, then thats the route I will probably take.

Thats my take on it...near maxed farmer, Total spend £13.99 for gems to buy builders. And I would not have even spent that if it were possible to get 5 builders for free. When I started playing, there were far less free gems knocking around and one false move and you gem an upgrade complete...I am sure I am not the only person to rush a mine by mistake...collect, collect, collect, rush...oh ♥♥♥♥, 500 gems wasted.
