War matching….does exp levels count?

My clan has lost every single war so far. Most times we lost before it even starts because the opposing clan is way more powerful than us. In our current war I discovered the following.

I normally check the enemy bases to compare to our own first. It looked like we had a slight advantage. I am #4 in my clan and my base has higher defences than the opposing #3. So I was optimistic. Then I checked out the profiles of the enemy. HOLY S….!!!!!!!

Their average experience level is 12.2 levels higher than ours. In short, we have 5 members over lvl 90 and they have 10!!!! Our highest member is lvl 108…also the only one over lvl100... while they have 5 members over lvl 100 with their most powerful one being lvl126.

Now, as far as I understand the more powerful your troops and defences - the higher your level? Please correct me if I am wrong. We are losing another war and there is nothing we can do…it is not fun anymore.

We are puzzled about the matching in wars. Help please.

Player experience level has nothing to do with anything. It is essentially useless when it comes to comparing players.

What mattes is townhall level, the level of your troops and heroes, and the level of your defenses and walls.

Experience level does not matter as it can be skewed by donations and other achievements.

Also, there seems to be less clans participating in war so your chances of going up against an experienced war clan are higher. That is the experience that matters in war as how good you are at attacking and base design can not be measured. That is the reason many clans still win mismatches.
