I agree. And just because someone spent $1000 doesn't mean they can only barch.

However, if you have two unknown players infront of you...and they both have the same base. One is a gemmer and the other is not. Which one would you regard as more skilled and accept into your clan?

The gemmer. I love people who will gem me a pekka for a last minute war attack. But seriously, say one guy "gemmed" 100m of his 1bil base. Maybe 200m? How about 900m? Where do you draw the line? What if I have never bought a single resource, but have gemmed lots of time and boosts?

Just watch them both attack and interact, then decide.....

As for the league bonus...that could just as well be th snipes, which bring no experience to the player. The thing is, there are a lot of clans talking smack, thinking highly of themselves. If there is no way of knowing how much experience they actually have (since you can't look at their base or stats), there is no way of knowing how much respect they deserve.

Be sure, when you met a full zap wall, maxed defense, with less than 200 millions gold grab, you find a Gemmer :-)

No. Heroes were added in January 2013. Profile update was August 2013.

if you really want to know if someone gemmed or not look at a few different stats.

if all of these are quite low then they have probably gemmed.

cant state wether someone has gemmed or not just based on gg alone!

base design, levels, GG, EE, HH ect ect ect say nothing about peoples skills.

The only way to see if someone has skills is watching him attack.

Im a maxed th 10 with only spending €5 and I still suck in war.

A maxed th10 with legos should be around 700m - 1b. For a fully maxed guy I'd expect more than 1.8b.

Well, I consider a gemmer someone who has payed (or is paying) money for gems. If I had to draw a subjective line...I dunno. It probably depends on your social status what you think is a lot. One could say $100 a year is a lot, while another pays that much every month.

So...for me, it's more about the skill. Competitive games should be about measuring skills, not money. Magic the Gathering walks that thin line (you can be the most skilled player in the world, but you will lose against good cards) and probably most of mmorpgs (haven't played any of them personally).
So how can I measure the skill of a certain clan? Look at their trophies? No good, they do not represent the skill level. Look at their player's bases? No good, you can gem bases. Look at their war history? No good, it only lists won wars, not the whole thing.
So, uhm...just give respect to clans that are high in cups and ask no questions, huh?

Don't trust the GG - the profiles didn't count loot before they were introduced, that's why many maxed TH10s don't have a very high GG or HH
